was inspired by the ideas of Gail Saetta and Matt Russell, Bradstock Music Festival volunteers who have been organizing the festival at the camp annually and have been installing lights throughout the camp for the past two years. When it looked like Bradstock would no longer continue because another music venue was not able to present the festival any longer, Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck offered to hold it on their grounds three years ago. During that time, Ms. Saetta and Mr. Russell became acquainted with the camp’s staff and volunteers and learned about its mission. They then began donating lights and installing them on the camp’s grounds. “One spring day when we were installing lights, Matt and I thought that adding something new to

Ms. Costello concurred that an innovative, artistic sculpture would enhance the camp. Falls account for more than one million injuries in the U.S. annually. There are four types of walking accidents with the most common being the slip and fall. That’s the type of fall that happens when you fall due a surface not cleared of snow or ice. “Every winter the hazards of driving in snow and icy conditions are noted, but rarely is walking on snow and ice addressed,” said Martin B. Tirado, CAE, Executive Director of the Snow & Ice Management Association. “Slipping and falling while walking accounts for a large number of winterrelated injuries and can have an impact on the quality of life for the injured person.” SIMA, the national nonprofit organization representing the snow removal industry, has some tips on safe winter walking.

Suffolk County Community College Culinary School student Satoko Matthews of East Patchogue whipped up a delectable dish to claim first place in the school’s Battle for the Beach Competition. The students’ challenge was to take a mystery basket of ingredients and turn them into a dish that was judged on creativity, presentation, and taste with minimal time to plan and execute its delivery – similar to the reality television show Chopped, airing on The Food Network. The winning dish, a mouthwatering lime marinated chicken with a baked artichoke topped with a lime aioli, roasted potato hash and sautéed brocollini was Matthews’ ticket to a seven-night stay at the Sheraton Clearwater Beach Resort in Clearwater, Florida (including round-trip airfare and ground transportation) and the opportunity to work
