Thanksgiving Food Distribution: The big, special family meal with that big, wonderful bird shouldn’t be a cause for extra financial strain for families in need. Helping Hand Rescue Mission provides Thanksgiving food boxes and turkeys for families so they can cook up their special meal and have it together. In 2020, they served over a thousand families with Thanksgiving food boxes and frozen turkeys that were donated and funded by wonderful churches, businesses, organizations, and families. They believe an enormous part of gratitude is giving back, and they’re so thankful to be able to provide with their community, for their community!
This non-profit was founded in 1965 by Reverend J.A. Gaines, his wife, Reverend Rose Marie Gaines, and her mother, Florence E. Meringola and 56 years later, their work continues under the direction of the founders’ daughter, Rev. Kimberly Gaines-Gambino, who functions as the President/Pastor of this organization. In addition to the academic concentration for students, PAMES will also focus on the wellbeing and mental health of students and staff. We
will create a culturally affirming school environment where our pupils will learn and grow!” Dr. Martin received her Doctorate in Education from Seton Hall University and Master of Science and Bachelor of Art degrees from Brooklyn College. Dr. Martin also received her Professional Diploma in Education Administration from Long Island University and she was certified by Phi Delta Kappa as an associate curriculum auditor.
