Maria Fusco Brings New Wellness Opportunity To Long Islanders Maria Fusco is a mother, certified yoga instructor and motivator. Most recently she also became the owner of Elevate Yoga & Wellness For All, located at 516 Broadway in Massapequa. Imagine your son or daughter, your grandchildren, your own brother or sister, or parent experiencing homelessness, addiction, mental health issues, domestic violence or severe depression. Imagine your family torn apart by circumstances out of your control. If you were connected to a crisis situation you would be very comforted to know that an entire community of supporters have made it possible for your loved one to find professional help and healing free of charge. So consider joining that network of support and be a part of the Hope House Ministries’ family. All of the services Hope House Ministries offers are FREE! Hope House Ministries (HHM) is a non-profit organization located in Port Jefferson. They provide compassionate, comprehensive and competent care for the poor, the marginal and the wounded among us. This commitment is woven in the Gospel vision that all life is sacred and every human person is unique and has the right to be respected and protected. They have accomplished much over the 40+ years they have been helping others with minimal financial assistance from federal, state or county agencies. They depend on the generosity of private contributions, fundraising events and corporate donations. Hope House Ministries services people in both Nassau County and Suffolk County, offering services free of charge. Together, their staff and volunteers have created an empowering sense of family and community that are the change agents, helping young people grow in self-discipline, critical thinking, problem solving skills and personal responsibility. Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Councilwoman Michele Johnson recently announced a collection drive to support birthday parties for homeless children on Long Island. Donations collected May 3st through May 31st will support the charitable efforts of Birthday Wishes of Long Island, a not-forprofit organization located in Hicksville. Through the efforts of volunteers and donations, the organization provides birthday parties to over 1,250 homeless children each year, including gifts, homemade cupcakes, goody bags, activities and crafts.

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Councilman Tom Hand honored healthcare heroes at a special ceremony at Catholic Health’s St. Joseph Hospital in recognition of Hospital Week. With more than 2 million confirmed cases in New York over the past year, the Town has continued to take opportunities to recognize those fighting on the frontlines of the pandemic. “The Town Board and I think it is incredibly important to continue to spotlight our Healthcare Heroes and all they do to keep us safe,” said Supervisor Saladino. “Words cannot adequately express the sense of pride we have in the astounding dedication and professionalism our healthcare heroes continue to display throughout the

Saladino Announces Return of Free Senior Citizen Activities of the activities seniors can enjoy as part of this year’s program. “Senior citizen activities are returning this month and I invite our residents to participate in these free activities, where they can once again enjoy the company of others, make new friends, and stay active,” said Supervisor Saladino. “Our senior activities are some of the most popular programs the Town offers, and I expect this year to be in higher demand than ever before as seniors can finally get out and be active as infection rates decline and vaccination rates climb!”
The following programs will be offered: line dancing, tai chi, exercise, book club, and more opportunities for socialization. Activities will run each day of the week, Monday through Friday. Seniors interested in any of these activities must reserve a spot in advance. Due to the pandemic and restrictions currently in place, class sizes are limited. Additionally, only one class permitted per week. Registration Open for GAP Summer Program Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino today announced that the Town’s Group Activities Program (GAP) will run a Summer Program from July 6th through August 13th at Marjorie Post Community Park in Massapequa and Syosset-
Woodbury Community Park. The summer day camp program will run daily from 10am to 3pm, and will be open to developmentally disabled children and young adults ages 5-21. “Our TOB GAP Summer Day Camp is one of the finest programs of its kind
in the country and our activities specialists take great pride in fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere at the day camp,” Supervisor Saladino said. “The focus of the GAP program is group interaction, and as part of the summer camp, participants will be able
to take part in such as activities as swimming, arts and crafts, sports, music, and playground time. I encourage residents to take this opportunity to register now and take advantage of this great program.” Group Activities Program (GAP) Summer
