The People of the State of California VS O.J. Simpson
Former NFL star O.J. Simpson was the primary suspect for the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. Based in the mid-90s in Hollywood, this case rapidly became one of the most famous trials in American history. Although O.J. was never convicted as his ex-wife’s killer, many to this day still believe he was the murderer.
The story entails Nicole and Ronald being found outside of Nicole’s condominium in Brentwood, Los Angeles. During the investigation of the crime scene, police find a bloody black leather glove, which belonged to O.J. Simpson, making him the primary suspect of the crime. A few days later when police officers went to Robert Kardashian’s house to convict O.J., Simpson went on a two-hour car chase around Los Angeles which eventually ended at his house. The jury consisted of mainly women with the exception of two men, and only one person was not of colour. In a time of racism and a case that was built on racial injustice it was important to highlight who the jury were and why O.J. eventually was not guilty. At the end of the trial in October 1995, O.J. Simpson tried on the evidence that was left on the scene: the black leather glove. The glove did not fit his hand as it was too small, leaving O.J. innocent and the jury acqitting to the crime.
