The 22nd Annual Buy The Beef Bull Sale was held Tuesday, Apr. 7 at the Stride Exhibition Grounds in Neepawa. Approximately 75 lots went under the auctioneer’s hammer and sold to a number of locations. The Buy The Beef Sale was founded originally by JAS Red Angus, owned by the McLaren family of Neepawa. Over the years, three more families have joined up, including Cam Tibbett and family of Neepawa, Madsen Angus of Arden (Tom and Alanna Madsen and Holly and Blake Park) and Nolan Cattle Co (Cody, Kendra, Ellie, Cash and Oaklynne Nolan) of Cypress River, MB. The sales management was provided by the Gladstone Auction Mart, Blaine Huston, Manager and Auctioneer, Tyler Slawinski. The yearling bulls averaged $10,110 while the two year-olds averaged $9,250. Overall bull average was $10,005. High selling bull was JAS Red Nibs 13N at $24,000. The sale was held by an actual live display of cattle in the pens and each lot was offered up for auction by way of video.
