The organization extends hospitality and assists in developing an image of the Hereford industry. We encourage the youth of Nebraska to learn through actual practice, as well as the great potential of Hereford cattle. HWN does this through many activities, including supporting contests and scholarships for Nebraska Junior Hereford Association as well as the Nebraska Hereford Queen program.

My name is Paisley Musil, and I am honored to serve as the Nebraska Hereford Queen. The Hereford breed has played a significant role in my life, instilling in me the values of hard work, responsibility, and pride in producing high-quality cattle that represent the strength of Nebraska agriculture.
I have been actively involved in both FFA and 4-H, and I currently serve as President of the Ravenna FFA Chapter. Through my years in 4-H, I have gained extensive experience caring for, exhibiting, and promoting Hereford cattle. One of my most meaningful achievements was earning Champion British Breed at my county fair—an accomplishment made especially memorable by sharing that moment with my late grandfather, who was also a Hereford breeder and a strong influence in my agricultural journey.
As Nebraska Hereford Queen, I am dedicated to promoting the Hereford breed, supporting our breeders, and serving as a positive ambassador for the Nebraska Hereford Association. I take great pride in representing the breed at events, engaging with youth, and sharing the many strengths of Hereford cattle with the agricultural community and the public. I am eager to assist breeders and the association in any way possible and am committed to furthering the success and visibility of the Hereford breed across Nebraska.

Today the cow herd consists of about 50 horned and polled registered cows and 100 commercial cows. We have both a Spring and Fall calving herds. Our genetics come from reputable herds such as Holden Herefords, Cooper Hereford Ranch, Van Newkirk Herefords, Wilhelm Cattle Co., just to name a few. Embryo transfer and artificial insemination have helped accelerate our herd to a new level. Our father, Bill Kester, started in the Hereford industry by purchasing 12 Hereford heifers from Grabenstien Herefords in 1989 and then began breeding for high maternal traits, carcass efficiency, and performance. We reside roughly 1.5 miles east of Clearwater, on the north side of HWY 275. Today we run 100 registered Hereford spring cows, 50 spring recips, 25 registered Hereford fall cows, and 25 fall recips. We’ve raised females that are currently listed in the top 200 cows in the Hereford industry along with many Dams of Distinction.
