Lake Thoreau Environmental Center: Ne w
The Lake Thoreau Environmental Center residence, completed in the Spring of 2026 , is a 1,600 sq. . individual design project.

Located in Haiesburg, MS , this Junior Year project focused on integrating a modern residence into a sensitive environmental landscape. While initial programming involved team collaboration , all architectural solutions and technical drawings were ex ecuted individually

The project deliverables included a comprehensive site plan, floor plan, and elevations. Revit was used for core BIM modeling and construction documentation , while Gemini and AI Rendering were utiliz ed to produce high-fidelity interior and exterior perspectives. The final solution demonstrates a strong balance between technical accuracy and conceptual design intent.

Designing a research cabin at Lake Thoreau requires balancing minimal site impact with the harsh realities of the Mississippi climate. You must navigate a high water table and sensitive local hydrology, necessitating a foundation that "touches the earth lightly" to prevent soil compaction. Additionally, the cabin has to survive intense humidity and pest pressure while maintaining thermal comfort for researchers, all within a sustainable frame work that ensures the building doesn't disrupt the

Located in downtown Haiesburg, Mississippi, this individual, theor y-based project, completed in the spring of 2026, involved the design of a new mixed-use development featuring four integrated shop-and-living units within a B-3 zoned property.

The final design features four commercial shop spaces each under 2,000 square feet and inclusive of a restroom, break area, and storage as well as four residential units under 1,500 square feet, each containing two bedrooms, two baths, a living room, kitchen, and balcony with private stair access.

Site planning incorporated usable, landscaped areas with dedicated private outdoor space for each residence. The final solution included a furniture plan, reflected ceiling plan, elevations, perspectives, and a detailed FF&E specification package.
