May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. - Romans 15:13
HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE We are glad you are joining us in prayer today. Whether you are praying alone or with others, your participation is a vital part of seeking God together on this National Day of Prayer. This guide is meant to lead you in focused, Scripturebased intercession that aligns with the heart of God, points to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and opens our own hearts to the work of the Holy Spirit. For Individual Use: • Set aside intentional time on May 1 to walk through each section. You may choose to move through it all at once or spread it throughout the day. • Begin with quiet reflection and prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to guide your heart and align your prayers with God’s will. • Read each Scripture and prayer focus slowly, allowing the truths to sink in. Let the written prayers serve as a launching point—feel free to pray your own words as God leads. • Keep a journal nearby to write down what God shows you or what specific people, places, or situations He brings to mind. For Corporate Use (Churches, Groups, and Families): • Assign leaders or participants to read the Scriptures, focuses, and written prayers aloud. Follow each section with time for silent or open group prayer. • Encourage a spirit of unity and expectation—praying not just for one another, but for the church, the nation, and the world. A Final Word: This day is more than a program—it’s a movement of hope, fueled by prayer and rooted in the power of the Holy Spirit. As we pour out our hearts to the God of Hope, may He fill us with joy and peace, and may our prayers overflow with eternal impact.
