PROGRAM & EVENT POLICIES

CANCELLATIONS

Help us have successful programs by registering early! All programs must have a minimum number of participants in order to be conducted. If a program does not meet this minimum, the class may be canceled. Cancellations by customers made five business days prior to the start of a program will receive a refund. No cancellation refunds will be given after the start of a program or event. Registration fees will not be prorated for partial attendance.

PHOTO RELEASE

The New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Department routinely takes photos and videos of participants in recreation activities, programs and special events and/ or at recreation facilities. These photos and/or videos may be used for promotional purposes. Be aware that by participating, you are granting the City of New Braunfels the right to use and publish your image or your minor child’s image.

WAIT LISTS

If registering for a class that is full, your name can be placed on a waiting list. This does not guarantee a spot, but individuals will be contacted if an opening becomes available.

The City of New Braunfels recognizes the Americans with Disabilities Act and is committed to supporting the inclusion of persons with disabilities into programs, services, and activities. Persons with a disability may request a reasonable modification to participate by filling out our Accommodation Request Form at least 14 days in advance.

NB PARD continually strives to provide quality programs and offers a Satisfaction Guarantee. If the participant is not satisfied with a class or program, the participant may either repeat the program at no cost, or receive a 100% refund or account credit, at the discretion of the participant.

To register online, a family or individual account must be created. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and e-checks (2.75% processing fee for credit cards).

REGISTER IN PERSON

In-person registrations are available at the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office, Landa Recreation Center, Das Rec and Fischer Park NEC. Checks should be made payable to "City of New Braunfels."

Das Rec classes and programs listed as "free" are free for members. Non-members must purchase a day pass to participate in a free class.

PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board makes recommendations to the City Council concerning policy matters related to the establishment, maintenance and operation of the City’s parks and recreation programs. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm at City Hall - Council Chambers, located at 550 Landa Street.

PARKS FOUNDATION

Established in 2005, the New Braunfels Parks Foundation exists to promote, protect and enhance the parks system of the City of New Braunfels through education, resource development and community partnerships. Some of the exciting projects the NBPF has funded include New Puppy Playland signage, Market Plaza sidewalk project, Fischer Park Picnic tables and mural, and new dog water fountains in Landa Park.

PARKS AND TRAILS

WITH OVER 700 ACRES OF PARKLAND, NEW BRAUNFELS STRIVES TO MAKE THE "GREAT OUTDOORS" ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE

The picnic pavilions provide the ideal setting for a family gathering or company picnic, while all of the natural areas offer a retreat from a busy and hectic world. Enjoy a softball or baseball game on one of the athletic fields or teach a child to fish at one of the fishing ponds.

With so much to see and do, New Braunfels parks are the perfect destination for the entire family. Plan a family outing and visit one of the many beautiful parks or trails today. Visit the online Parks and Recreation GIS map for more park details.

CITY TUBE CHUTE

The City Tube Chute on the Comal River is open for floating year round. Tube rentals and lifeguards are only available May - August.

THRU THE CHUTE*

Build a cardboard vessel and race it through the City Tube Chute! Prizes will be awarded, and all teams must pre-register online starting February 2. FISCHER FLICKS

Join us for Fischer Flicks, an outdoor movie series featuring different films and themes throughout the season, Bring your blankets and chairs, and we’ll take care of the rest.

DOGGIE DIP DAY

We're unleashing the fun at the newly renovated Landa Park Aquatic Complex for Doggie Dip Day! Bring your furry friend from noon to 4 p.m. to play and cool off in the spring-fed pool! Pre Registration not required. Please provide proof of current rabies vaccination upon entry.

AQUA EGG HUNT*

Hop on over to the Das Rec Leisure pool for our annual Underwater Egg Hunt. Children will hunt for eggs, then receive a goodie bag. A small craft will also be available. Children 7 and under must have a parent in the water within an arms reach at all times. Please remember to bring your own baskets and goggles.

MEET THE TRUCKS

Meet the Trucks is a FREE family fun event where you are invited to get up-close and personal with the big trucks that make our city GO! Children will be allowed to touch their favorite vehicles, get behind the wheel, and meet the people who help to build, protect and serve our community. The first 30 minutes of the event will be designated as "sensory friendly" with no flashing lights, sirens, horns or loud music.

DOS RIOS SPLASH & DASH 5K*

Run, walk, splash, and support YOUR New Braunfels Parks! This one-of-a-kind 5K takes you from Cypress Bend Park to Prince Solms Park, through the City Tube Chute for a refreshing float on the Comal River, then back to Cypress Bend Park. Proceeds from the race benefit the New Braunfels Parks Foundation! Register at athleteguild.com

JULY 4TH FIREWORKS

Our spectacular Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration will commemorate America’s 250th birthday in 2026. This free event features a dazzling fireworks display over Landa Lake, set to patriotic music and visible throughout the park and surrounding areas.

Arrive early to enjoy Live @ Landa festivities, including an evening concert and family-friendly fun, before fireworks light up the sky around 9:15 p.m.

SUMMER READING KICKOFF*

This year’s Summer Reading Program begins with a funfilled kickoff event at the Main Branch Library on Common Street on Saturday, June 7th, from 10am to 1pm. The kickoff party will include an outdoor karate dance party, a foam party, vehicle tours with the Police Department and Fire Department, snow cones, arts & crafts, and a kid’s book sale by the Friends of the Library.

LANDA PARK AQUATIC COMPLEX

Celebrate your child’s special day with a cool, fun-filled pool party, available during the summer season only. CITY NATURE CHALLENGE

Join us and local Master Naturalists for the City Nature Challenge—a worldwide citizen-science weekend where we document all the nature we can find! Using the iNaturalist app, we’ll explore and identify birds, butterflies, flowers, and more. If you’ve been curious about the Fischer Park Nature Center, we’ll also be hosting an open house that day!

Hill Country Karate’s certified instructors began teaching American Karate in 1983 to people of all ages, utilizing positive instructional methods. All instructors are required to complete extensive certification programs emphasizing safety and positive professional teaching. CAMP MINNEHAHA*

Camp Minnehaha is a general summer camp program with a wide variety of daily activities. Campers need to bring a sack lunch, water bottle, swimsuit, sunscreen, and a towel to camp. To ensure a great experience for all the campers, each session has a limited number of registered campers.

FISCHER PARK NATURE CAMP*

Fischer Park Nature Camp is a nature-based summer camp program with weekly themed activities. Campers need to bring a sack lunch, morning snack, water bottle, swimsuit, sunscreen, a towel, and change of clothes each day. Each session has a limited number of registered campers.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR CAMP:

Full refunds will only be given if notice is received fourteen (14) or more days prior to the start of the registered week of camp. No refund can be given once camp has begun. Registration costs cannot be prorated for partial attendance.

DEPOSIT POLICY FOR CAMP:

A deposit may be made at the time of enrollment, instead of full payment, to secure a spot in individual weeks of Camp Minnehaha or Fischer Park Nature Camp by paying $50 per child, per week of camp that they would like to register for. This deposit payment will reserve a camper’s spot in the program until full payment is due.

The remaining balance for camp tuition is due 14 days before the first day of camp for each registered week. Failure to submit the remaining payment, 14 days before registered start date, may result in the forfeiture of that week’s deposit and the loss of the reserved spot at camp.

Our coaches will guide all young athletes through the fundamental movements and skills of each sport with an emphasis on learning through play. Registration April 1st - May 19th.

ULTIMATE SPORTS CAMP*

Oak Run Middle School

Participants will enjoy a wide variety of both traditional and nontraditional sports. Football, Baseball, Field Hockey, Handball, Kickball, and Ultimate Frisbee are just some of the unique options for participants. Registration April 1st - May 18th.

SPRING VENTURES DAY CAMP*

Join us over Spring Break for an engaging, fun-filled, allday camp. Kids will enjoy games, crafts, sports, movies, and adventures in Landa Park..

1ST & 10 FOOTBALL CAMP*

This developmental camp will focus on learning the fundamentals of football. Registration April 1st - May 19th.

KIDS DAY OUT*

Spend the day at Landa Recreation Center with fun filled activities such as games, movies, and more! Campers will delight in a variety of activities and adventures!

LITTLE LANDA EXPLORERS*

Little Landa Explorers will venture from hiking Panther Canyon to crawfishing at Landa Lake. Join us in discovering all the fun ins and outs of Landa Park and learning how to protect and preserve its natural beauty.

FIELD OF DREAMS BASEBALL CAMP*

This introductory camp will teach the participants the basics of baseball. Registration April 1st - May 19th.

Join us for a special summer camp experience with Parks and Recreation, where young artist can explore their talents amidst the beauty of Landa Park.

Join us for a hands-on summer camp experience where participants learn the importance of safety, explore basic building skills, and create daily projects to take home.

RAPIDS TRACK PROGRAM

Participants will train in specific events and foster the importance of personal health and sportsmanship throughout. Rapids Track participants will make plans to participate in circuit, regional qualifying and the TAAF Summer Games of Texas state meets.

LEADERSHIP IN TRAINING (LIT)*

LIT will give you the chance to work alongside various city staff members, through hands on experience. Participants will get to shadow counselors, lifeguards, cashiers, and more, giving you a taste of different job roles in your community.
