Update from Noosa Council
Construction on the new accessible public amenities facility at Quota Park, Gympie Terrace, Noosaville is set to commence in late June 2026, marking an important step forward in improving accessibility and inclusion along the Noosaville foreshore.
The new facility will feature a fully accredited Changing Places amenities space, designed to support people with high support needs and their carers. The facility will include an adult-sized change table, ceiling hoist, peninsula toilet and privacy screen, providing greater comfort, and accessibility for both residents and visitors.
In addition to the Changing Places facility, the project will also deliver new public toilets, outdoor showers, upgraded pathway connections and improved accessibility links to existing disability parking spaces. Visitors can also expect new seating areas, landscaping enhancements and updated signage and wayfinding throughout the area.
The project forms part of Council’s ongoing commitment to improving community infrastructure and responds directly to feedback received through the Noosaville Foreshore Infrastructure Master Plan. The design has been developed in accordance with the Noosa Design Principles to ensure the facility complements the surrounding environment and foreshore character.
Construction is expected to continue through to November 2026, weather and construction conditions permitting.
During the construction period, sections of Quota Park will be temporarily fenced off to ensure public safety. While the adjacent car park and foreshore pathway will remain open, temporary adjustments to some parking spaces, pedestrian access and site movements may occur. Nearby residents and visitors may also notice periods of construction noise while works are underway. Council has advised that regular updates will continue throughout the project to keep the community informed of progress.

Checklist for Expanding Businesses
As a business grows, its leadership naturally focuses on scaling operations, expanding teams, and hitting new revenue milestones. It’s an exhilarating time. You’re hiring faster, winning bigger contracts, and perhaps even expanding into new markets. However, this growth brings an often-overlooked side effect: it places a massive target on your back.
I’ve seen it time and again. Many small and mediumsized business owners assume they are "too small" to attract the attention of global cybercriminals. They think hackers are only interested in the big banks or
government agencies. In reality, threat actors frequently target growing businesses precisely because their defenses are often less mature than those of large enterprises. To a hacker, an expanding business is the "Goldilocks" target: big enough to have valuable data and money to steal, but small enough that their security might still be handled by a single overworked IT person or, worse, no one at all.
To help you safeguard your momentum, we have outlined the non-negotiable, five-point cybersecurity framework every expanding business must implement to build a resilient defense.
1. Establish Continuous Security Culture
It’s a hard pill to swallow, but your employees remain the primary vector for modern cyber threats. Even with the best firewalls in the world, one single click on a sophisticated phishing link can open the gates to your entire network. Today’s phishing schemes are engineered to bypass traditional email filters and often use social engineering techniques that can fool even tech-savvy staff.
Securing your business starts with transforming your workforce from a potential vulnerability into your strongest line of defense.
The Strategic Approach
Static, annual training videos are no longer sufficient. In 2026, the threat landscape moves too fast for a "one and done" approach. Organizations require ongoing security awareness training paired with routine, simulated phishing campaigns. This keeps threat identification topof-mind across all departments without disrupting daily operations.
We advocate for a culture of "positive security." Instead of punishing staff for mistakes, we use simulated tests to identify who needs more help and provide micro-training modules that take just minutes. When security becomes a part of the daily conversation, your team becomes a human firewall.
2. Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
As you hire more people, it’s tempting to give everyone "Administrator" access just to keep things moving. It’s easier than figuring out specific permissions, right?

Wrong. This is one of the most dangerous shortcuts a growing business can take.
Data visibility must strictly align with operational necessity. Broad, unchecked administrative privileges across an enterprise create massive risk. If a single employee account is compromised: perhaps because they reused a password or fell for a phishing scam: the attacker shouldn't automatically inherit the keys to your entire infrastructure.
The Strategic Approach
Implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) ensures employees only have access to the specific files, networks, and applications required for their duties. Your marketing team doesn't need access to payroll; your sales team doesn't need to see the server configuration files.
To streamline this process, we recommend centralized password management tools. These tools enforce complex, unique credentials across the entire organization while eliminating the dangerous habit of password reuse. It makes life easier for your staff (no more forgotten passwords!) while giving you total control and visibility.
3. Enforce Universal Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
If your organization implements only one security measure this quarter, it should be Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Seriously.
MFA acts as a critical secondary barrier by requiring two or more distinct validation steps before granting access. This usually combines something you know (your password) with something you have (a dynamic token from a secure authenticator app or a hardware key).
The Strategic Approach
In the modern business environment, MFA must be mandated across all corporate emails, Google Workspace or Office 365 accounts, cloud platforms, and internal databases. Even if a bad actor manages to harvest an employee’s password, MFA effectively neutralizes the attack by blocking access at the secondary verification stage.
We are moving past SMS-based codes, which can be intercepted. We recommend app-based authenticators or hardware security keys for the highest level of protection. It’s a small extra step for your team that provides a massive leap in security.
4. Centralize Endpoint and Mobile Protection
The modern workforce is no longer confined to a single, secure office building. Your data now flows across a distributed network of laptops, smartphones, and tablets operating on home routers and public Wi-Fi networks in cafes. Each of these devices represents an "endpoint": a potential entry point for unauthorized access.
When you were a team of five, you could manually check everyone’s laptop. At fifty or a hundred employees, that’s impossible.
The Strategic Approach
Expanding businesses need comprehensive visibility over all hardware through robust Mobile Device Management (MDM) software and IT Support systems. Centralized management allows for:
Automated Patching: Ensuring every device is running the latest security updates.
Data Encryption: Enforcing full-disk encryption so if a laptop is left in a taxi, the data is unreadable.
Remote Wipe: The ability to instantly erase corporate data from a device if it is lost, stolen, or an employee leaves the company on bad terms.
By managing these endpoints centrally, you ensure that no matter where your team is working, they are doing so within a secure perimeter.
5. Audit Third-Party Vendor Security
An organization's security posture is only as strong as its weakest vendor. Modern businesses rely heavily on third-party SaaS applications for everything from payroll and CRM to communication and project management. If one of those partners experiences a data breach, your proprietary data could be exposed.
The Strategic Approach
Before integrating any new software or vendor into your ecosystem, perform a strict compliance audit. Don't just take their word for it; look for partners who design their systems around Zero Trust Architecture and hold industry-standard security certifications such as SOC 2, GDPR, or ISO 27001.
