Jazz Explosion Hits Noosaville – And Sells Out in Style
The Noosaville Business Association (NBA) has once again delivered a standout community event, with the recent Jazz Explosion in Noosaville proving to be a resounding success — and a complete sell-out.
In partnership with the Noosa Jazz Club, the NBA transformed Land & Sea Brewery into a vibrant hub of live music, energy, and connection. Headlining the evening was the legendary Galapagos Duck, whose performance had the crowd captivated from the first note.
The venue was filled wall-to-wall with locals and visitors, creating a lively atmosphere of toe-tapping rhythms, sing-alongs, and dancing between tables. The energy throughout the night was electric, with the brewery team working at full pace — the kitchen delivering exceptional meals and the bar keeping the drinks flowing as the room buzzed with excitement.
This event is a clear reflection of what can be achieved when local businesses, community groups, and live entertainment come together. The overwhelming response from attendees says it all, with one question echoing across the room: “When’s the next one?”
The NBA extends its sincere thanks to Noosa Jazz Club for organising the event and to everyone who attended and supported the evening. Your enthusiasm and participation made the event truly unforgettable.
A special acknowledgment goes to our major sponsor, Community Bank Sunshine Coast, along with our valued jazz sponsors: Niche Luxury Transfers, Ray White Commercial, Celtic Solar Electrical Services, Laguna Pest Control, and of course, Land & Sea Brewery for hosting such an incredible night.
Events like this highlight the strength and spirit of the Noosaville business community — and the appetite for more.
Stay tuned… the next Jazz Night may not be far away.

Perfect Morning Sets the Tone at Noosaville Business Event
Last week, Noosaville once again delivered the kind of morning locals have come to love, as the Good Morning Noosaville series welcomed another successful Business Over Brews event — this time hosted at the picturesque Dusty’s Kitchen at the Noosa Marina.
With the sun shining and the water glistening in the background, attendees were treated to a truly idyllic start to the day. The stunning marina outlook provided the perfect setting for a relaxed yet productive morning of networking, as local business owners and professionals gathered to connect, share ideas, and strengthen community ties.
It was also great to have Mayor Frank Wilkie in attendance, along with members of the Noosa Council team, further strengthening the connection between local business and community leadership.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with conversations flowing just as smoothly as the coffee — generously provided by Bank of Queensland – Noosa Civic. Their support ensured every guest could enjoy a fresh brew while engaging in meaningful discussions.
Adding to the experience, the team at Dusty’s Kitchen delighted guests with their delicious homemade scrolls, offering the perfect accompaniment to the morning’s conversations and coastal views.
Events like Good Morning Noosaville continue to highlight the strength and spirit of the Noosaville business community — where collaboration, support, and connection are always at the forefront.

Rethinking Online Security: From Passwords to Passkeys
I remember sitting in front of a computer terminal back in 1981. Even then, the weak point in security was obvious: the password. Four decades later, we’re still asking people to protect important systems with something easy to forget, easy to reuse, and easy to steal.
That’s why I think passkeys are the biggest breakthrough in 40 years.

"A password is a secret you share with a website. A passkey is a secret you keep entirely to yourself."

Article by Mathew Hoffman, Cloud Computer Company
Why Passkeys Matter
Passwords fail because they rely on shared secrets. If a site is breached, a fake login page fools someone, or a password is reused, the damage can spread quickly.
Passkeys change that model. Your device creates a secure key pair: one public, one private. The public part is registered with the service. The private part stays on your device. When you sign in, your device confirms it’s really you using your fingerprint, face, or PIN, without sending a password across the internet.
That means there’s nothing obvious to steal, type in, or hand over to a scammer.
Why I Think This Changes Everything
From large enterprise environments to consulting with smaller organisations, I’ve always believed the best security is the kind people will actually use. That’s the real beauty of passkeys: they are both stronger and simpler. They also make phishing dramatically harder because they are tied to the real website or app. A fake login page can look convincing, but the passkey won’t authenticate to the wrong destination.
How
to Set It Up
Getting started is usually straightforward:
1. Check Settings
Open the security or sign-in settings for the account or app you want to protect.
2. Look for Passkeys
Find the option for passkeys or passwordless sign-in.
3. Create/Verify
Follow the prompts to create a passkey, then verify with your fingerprint, face, or device PIN.
4. Confirm
Sign out and test it once so you know it’s working properly.

The Bottom Line
I’ve been in IT since the early 80's, and I’ve seen plenty of supposed revolutions come and go. Passkeys feel different. They fix a core flaw in how online security has worked for decades.
For business owners, that matters. Less password fatigue. Less reuse. Less chance of staff handing over credentials to the wrong page. More security with less friction.
If you’re still relying on passwords alone, you’re effectively running a modern business on 1980s thinking. Passkeys are a cleaner, safer way forward.
Let’s leave passwords in the past where they belong.

Every August, Noosa Open Studios transforms the region into one of Australia’s most engaging cultural trails, inviting visitors behind the scenes of creativity. In 2026, its 11th consecutive year, more than 80 artists will open their studio doors, offering a rare opportunity to experience art where it is conceived, shaped and brought to life.
Set against Noosa’s naturally inspiring landscape, the event has become a proven crowd pleaser, drawing collectors, enthusiasts and curious travellers from across the country. It is not just an art trail; it is a journey through the personalities, processes and stories that define the region’s creative identity. From painters and sculptors to ceramicists, photographers and mixed media artists, the diversity of talent ensures every stop offers something new.
The impact extends well beyond the studios. Cafés, restaurants, accommodation providers and retailers all benefit from the steady flow of visitors who come to explore the trail and, in turn, discover more of what Noosa has to offer. It is a meaningful boost to the local
economy, particularly during a time when consistent visitation is highly valued.
For local businesses, Noosa Open Studios presents a compelling opportunity to align with a respected cultural event. Sponsorship packages and advertising placements within the widely distributed Trail Guide offer strong visibility to an engaged and affluent audience. Whether through direct financial support or strategic promotion, involvement signals a commitment to community, creativity and regional growth.
As the event continues to evolve, its core appeal remains unchanged: authentic connection. Visitors meet artists face to face, gain insight into their work and often take home a piece of that experience. For businesses and supporters alike, it is a chance to be part of something that is distinctly Noosa… creative, collaborative and increasingly influential on the national stage.

Noosa International Surfilm Festival Returns in 2026
The Noosa International Surfilm Festival (NISFF) returns from 13–16 August 2026 at Noosa Event Cinemas, bringing together locals, visitors, filmmakers and ocean enthusiasts for a celebration of storytelling, culture and connection.
Now in its third year, NISFF has established itself as a boutique cultural event reflecting Noosa’s coastal identity. While grounded in surf culture, the festival continues to expand its focus to include broader ocean culture, featuring films that explore the environment, adventure, creativity, and our connection to the sea.
The program includes a curated selection of short and feature films from Australia and internationally, alongside filmmaker Q&As. A strong focus remains on supporting emerging talent, with local and young filmmakers given the opportunity to present their work on the big screen.

New in 2026 is the Waves of Change Award, recognising films that highlight ocean conservation, environmental awareness, and positive social impact.
Beyond the screenings, the festival contributes to Noosa’s cultural and economic landscape by attracting visitors, supporting local businesses, and creating opportunities for community connection.
Festival Director Jesca Maas says local support plays an important role in the festival’s growth. “We’re currently inviting local businesses to come on board as partners and

support the festival, with opportunities for visibility across festival media. Partners will also receive a tailored social media strategy session, along with practical tools designed to maximise brand alignment and return on investment.”
With its focus on culture, creativity and community, NISFF continues to grow as a valuable addition to Noosa’s annual events calendar.

BA5 Brings Real
Connections to Life at Noosa Sports Club
Our latest Business After Five (BA5) event at the Noosa Sports Club was a fantastic reminder of what makes the Noosaville business community so unique — genuine connection.
Those who joined us experienced something a little different. This wasn’t about collecting a stack of business cards or rushing through quick introductions. Instead, the evening was filled with meaningful conversations, shared ideas, and the chance to connect with like-minded locals who live and work right here in the Noosaville region. These are the people you’ll recognise the next time you’re out and about — at a café, a meeting, or supporting another local business.
Events like BA5 go beyond networking. By simply showing up, members are actively contributing to something bigger — strengthening relationships, supporting one another, and helping shape the future of our vibrant local business community.
A special thank you goes to Craig and Vanessa from Noosa Sports Club for their warm hospitality. Guests enjoyed great food and the first drink of the evening, setting the perfect tone for a relaxed and engaging night.
For those who haven’t visited yet, the club (formerly Tewantin Bowls Club) offers much more than just a great event space. With delicious Chinese cuisine, affordable drinks, social bowls, trivia nights, and live music, it’s quickly becoming a go-to destination for both locals and visitors alike.
We look forward to seeing even more members at our next BA5 on Tuesday, 26 May at Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club — come along, get involved, and be part of what makes Noosaville such a thriving place to do business.
