In this course, students will read novels, as well as short stories, poetry, and essays by and about people of diverse backgrounds in order to explore the many perspectives that exist in the literary canon. In addition, this course aims to further develop reading, writing, and critical thinking skills.

COURSE DESCRIPTION Love to write creatively? Or want to learn how to write creatively? Like expressing yourself in a low-pressure and welcoming environment? This is the class for you!
Creative Writing is for students who want to explore poetry, fiction. and the personal essay. Students should have an interest in writing and be motivated to work independently to complete projects & assignments. Students' are able to receive feedback and revise work multiple times before it is graded.
What to expect in this course:
JOURNALISM ENROLL IN
This course explores the history of journalism and how its role has developed in our modern society with social media, biogs, video and photography.
You will learn research, investigative and interviewing skills, responsible reporting and journalistic writing techniques, design and delivery. You will follow the news and write your own news and feature articles. You will get real-time and real-life journalism experience as contributors to our online and print student publication The Announcer.
Literature and Film: Englisn Department Elective (Grades l 0-12}

COURSE DESCRIPTION This course explores the connections between film and literature. Selected novels, graphic novels and shorter works are analyzed in relation to film versions of the same works in order to gain an understanding of the possibilities and problems involved in the adaptation of novels to film.

DIGITAL
PHOTOGRAPHY The main focus of this course will be composition; or how you arrange the elements in your photos to create a message. We'll pair the work in composition with developing your own artistic voice while working with film and digital cameras. For class projects, students are encouraged to work with ideas, materials, and locations you feel are important to you as an artist. No experience or personal camera necessary! Course Descri gt ion Anatomy is the ABC's of biology. It is fundamental and absolutely essential in understanding biology and an integral part of many other disciplines (allied health sciences). Laboratory exercises provide the real learning experience in any anatomy course and serve to illustrate, validate, and reinforce what you learn. As a successful student in .anatomy lab you should be able to locate, identify, and functionally describe the structures of the human body. T hrough dissections, examinations of models & slides, and lab activities you will be able to achieve the above goal by examining the three-dimensional relationships among structures.
This course provides students opportunities to develop a deep conceptual understanding of the big ideas in biology and to practice scientific inquiry in laboratory investigations.

Humans depend on the Earth's air, water, and soil. Humans have also altered the earth in many ways. Environmental Science will help you understand how humans have changed the planet and how we can respond to those changes. Classwork is enhanced by activities which include indoor and outdoor labs and field trips.
