During the spring semester of 2012, a group of fifteen, including fourteen Nazareth College senior English Literature majors and one elderly pedant, set out to study alterity and monstrosity in the early medieval imagination. Thirteen completed the journey. The essays collected in this volume represent the hard work, critical acuity, and eloquence of those thirteen students.
