Ray Chavez, formerly the oldest living Pearl Harbor survivor, passed away at the age of 106, Wednesday, Nov. 21. Chavez, of California, was assigned to the minesweeper USS Condor while stationed at Pearl Harbor. He attended the 76th commemoration of the Pearl Harbor attacks, Dec. 7, 2017, at the World War II Valor in the Pacific Monument.
