May in Tucson has a distinct kind of energy. The mornings invite movement before the desert heat rises and the evenings soften into a quiet reminder to slow down and restore. As someone who values an active lifestyle, walking desert trails, staying engaged in community and prioritizing well-being, I’ve come to understand that vitality isn’t just about keeping up. It’s about tuning in.

This month’s theme, Vitality Her Way, speaks to the evolving, deeply personal nature of women’s health. Vitality isn’t a one-size-fits-all formula or a number on a chart. It’s how we feel in our bodies, how we respond to life’s demands and how we care for ourselves through every stage. It’s strength but also resilience, rest, nourishment and connection. It’s knowing when to push forward and when to pause, when to give and when to receive.

In this issue, we explore what it means to be Strong, Centered and Whole, honoring the multidimensional nature of women’s wellness. We take a closer look at Bone Health in Perimenopause and Beyond, a topic that often goes unnoticed until it demands attention and one that deserves a proactive, informed approach. We also dive into Six Ways to Expand Our Energy and Awakening Vitality from Within, reminding us that energy isn’t something we chase, it’s something we cultivate through daily choices, supportive practices and mindful awareness.

Vitality also expresses itself creatively and spiritually. We celebrate the beauty and presence of the natural world through The Plein Air Art of Terry Bowman, a reflection of how being immersed in nature can restore and inspire. And for those exploring more subtle pathways to wellness, even practices like Animal Reiki offer a reminder that healing energy extends beyond ourselves and into the connections we share with all living beings.

This month offers a beautiful opportunity to celebrate the women in your life in meaningful ways. Think about the mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, mentors and colleagues who have shaped your journey. Consider how you might honor them not just with words, but with presence and intention. A handwritten note expressing gratitude, a shared walk under the desert sky, preparing a nourishing meal, or simply taking the time to truly listen can be powerful acts of care. Supporting a woman-owned local business, encouraging a friend to prioritize her health, or offering help to someone who may be carrying more than she shows are all ways to uplift the strength and spirit of the women around us.

At the same time, remember to include yourself in that circle of care. Celebrating women also means recognizing your own needs, your own growth and your own vitality. Give yourself permission to rest, to seek support and to embrace what wellness looks like for you in this season of life.

Vitality her way means honoring your own rhythm while uplifting others along the path. Here in Tucson, we’re fortunate to live in a place that supports both movement and mindfulness. May this issue inspire you to embrace both and to celebrate the vibrant, resilient women who make our community so strong.

Yoga Teacher Training Offers Path to Deeper Learning

The Yoga Connection is inviting aspiring and experienced practitioners to deepen their practice through its upcoming yoga teacher training programs. Rooted in the idea that “to teach is to learn,” the training emphasizes that a strong foundation in yoga begins with personal understanding and experience.

Through the study of yoga poses and philosophy, participants gain insight into their own bodies, including strengths and limitations. This awareness not only enhances personal practice, but also prepares students to guide others with clarity and confidence. While instructors provide informed support, the program highlights the importance of self-exploration as a key component of learning.

The Yoga Connection, Tucson’s only active nonprofit yoga center, offers both 200- and 300-level teacher training certifications. These programs meet Yoga Alliance® standards and are designed to equip participants with the skills needed to teach students of all levels. In addition to physical postures, the curriculum includes foundational tools for effective instruction and a deeper understanding of yoga principles.

A new certification training intensive begins June 1. A free information session will be held from 3 to 4 p.m., May 2.

For more information or to register, visit YogaConnection.org or call 520-323-1222.

Integrative Oncology Practice Expands with Terrain-Based Approach

Dr. Teri Jackson, NMD, has announced the expansion of her integrative oncology practice, offering a comprehensive, terrain-based approach to supporting individuals navigating cancer. With more than 15 years of clinical experience and advanced training in integrative oncology, Jackson combines evidence-informed natural therapies with a focus on the body’s internal environment—referred to as the “terrain”—to help optimize resilience, vitality and overall health.

Her approach addresses key terrain factors, including metabolic health, inflammation, immune function, hormone balance, digestion and detoxification, along with the often-overlooked mental and emotional landscape. By looking beyond diagnosis and identifying unique patterns within each individual, Jackson provides personalized care designed to complement conventional cancer treatments or support those seeking integrative or alternative options.

In addition to oncology care, Jackson works with patients experiencing complex chronic conditions, including cardiovascular disease, chronic infections and autoimmune disorders, using the same holistic and individualized framework.

A strong advocate for patient education, Jackson emphasizes empowerment and collaboration, encouraging individuals to better understand their health and actively participate in their healing process.

The Plein Air Art of Terry Bowman

Capturing the Sonoran Desert Light

Tucson artist Terry Bowman has built an impressive art practice as a plein air (outdoor) painter. Creating her work in real time, Bowman embraces the fleeting qualities of light and atmosphere in the Sonoran Desert, where shifting shadows and glowing horizons define the conditions of the day.

Bowman earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona, grounding her in studio art while developing a long-term commitment to painting. Over the years, she has refined her approach through workshops with prominent plein air painters and through active participation in regional art communities. She has exhibited in numerous regional shows and

venues, including galleries and exhibitions across Tucson and the Southwest.

Her work is closely connected to Tucson —not just as a home base, but as a continual source of inspiration. The desert is particularly suited to the plein air approach. The interplay of intense sunlight, wind and shadow across rugged terrain creates dramatic contrasts that shift by the minute.

Bowman’s paintings serve as records of time and place. Each canvas captures an intersection of fleeting elements in nature, including color, temperature and atmosphere. “My love of the outdoors has led me to plein air painting,” she says.

Q&A With Artist Terry Bowman

Did you start liking art at an early age?

I started drawing in middle school and continued taking art classes.

What is plein air painting?

Plein air painting is the practice of painting outdoors, directly from life. The French expression “en plein air” means “in open air.”

Which French artist is famous for plein air painting?

Monet is one of the most well-known French Impressionists. I was fortunate to paint in Monet’s gardens in Giverny. It was a wonderful experience.

Why do you prefer it to studio painting?

I find my greatest rewards in plein air painting. There is an energy and freshness that comes from painting outdoors. There is also the challenge of capturing light and color. I have always loved being outside in nature. Painting outdoors allows the artist to truly see and appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. It is also nice to hear the birds and see a few small critters.

What are some of the challenges of painting outdoors?

When you are in the landscape, it can feel overwhelming. There is so much to take in. It helps to focus on what first caught your attention—color, strong shadows or light.

Terry Bowman
Waiting To Open by Terry Bowman

Once you choose your scene, you must work quickly because the light changes. The constantly shifting conditions provide both inspiration and challenge.

What type of paint do you use?

I use oil paints. They blend nicely and do not dry as quickly as other mediums.

How do your paintings convey emotion?

Rather than creating purely representational landscapes, I aim to translate moments into paint, conveying not only the visual scene but also the mood and sensation of being present. I hope viewers can feel the atmosphere and sense what I experienced while painting.

What advice do you have for beginners?

If someone is interested in plein air painting, they should just begin. It is challenging, but very rewarding. There are workshops for beginners, and the Sonoran Plein Air Society paints together once a week.

Have you taken advanced workshops?

Yes, I have taken many workshops. Randall Sexton and Phil Stark were among the most memorable.

Where

is your studio and how can people purchase your art?

I have a studio on my property, which is very convenient, though not downtown for art events. I participate in open studio tours. My website is TerryBowmanFineArt. com, and those interested in visiting the studio can contact me there.

What are you reading now?

I am reading Wisdom Untethered: The Time for Questions, a new book by Michael Singer, author of The Untethered Soul. It offers guidance on finding inner freedom, managing mental chatter and releasing emotional pain by returning to a calm center.

Do you have hobbies outside of painting?

I have a larger property and enjoy landscaping and creating small artistic features. I had so many rocks that I made a tiny village with walking trails around it—just for fun.

How would you describe yourself in five words or fewer?

Happy, grateful, caring and a doer.

Global Wellness Trends Highlighted at ISPA 2026

Wellness professionals from around the world gathered at ISPA 2026 to explore the evolving connection between beauty and holistic health, highlighting a growing demand for integrative, nature-based approaches.

Body Bliss Intentional Aromatherapy showcased its Chakra Balance treatment, combining intentional aromatherapy with massage, tuning forks and sound bowls to promote relaxation, circulation and energetic balance. “Aromatherapy is a beautiful way to bring the peace and reset of nature into your home, office, body, mind and spirit,” said Sherrie, educator and formulator for the company.

Owners Lynn and Brad Taflinger emphasized a shift in consumer preferences toward cleaner products and streamlined access. “Women are looking for healthy alternatives with no additives or chemicals,” Lynn noted, while Brad highlighted the importance of improving ordering systems to better serve clients.

Industry leaders also shared insights on the future of spa-based wellness. Former ISPA chair Kelly Martin discussed the expanding role of spa directors in whole-person care, while educators and executives from global skincare brands emphasized the growing integration of holistic practices into modern aesthetics.

The event underscored a clear trend: wellness and beauty are increasingly aligned, with a focus on natural solutions, accessibility and whole-body health.

WELLNESS DREAM TEAM PROFILE

HOLODYNAMIC BODYWORK

3984 N. Campbell Ave., Tucson, 85719 508-228-7562 • GlenWeimer.com

Over more than 35 years of study and practice, I developed Holodynamic Bodywork—an integrative approach blending somatic trauma work, polarity therapy and manual techniques to release tension and restore balance among body, mind and nervous system.

What drew you to this profession?

I was drawn to this work by a deep fascination with the body’s healing wisdom and its capacity to recover when given the right conditions—and by the recognition that most traditional approaches overlook the critical role of body consciousness. My journey began with polarity therapy and expanded into somatic and manual techniques as I saw how physical tension, emotional overwhelm and long-held trauma patterns intertwine.

How does your work differ from others in your profession?

While there may be similarities to massage therapy, Holodynamic Bodywork goes deeper than traditional massage. Rather than focusing primarily on muscles, I work with the entire system—including fascia, organs, the nervous system and subtle energy—to support lasting change.

What should someone expect from working with you?

Each session is tailored to the individual rather than treating symptoms alone. Clients can expect collaborative, gentle sessions grounded in psychoneurophysiological regulation. It begins with listening—to the body and experience—and continues with precise, skilled touch. Most clients leave feeling deeply relaxed and grounded.

What changes do you plan in 2026?

In 2026, I am relocating my thriving Nantucket Island practice back to Tucson. After nearly 30 years away, I am excited to reintroduce this work to the community.

Anything else our readers should know?

The body remembers what the mind may forget, and healing begins when the nervous system feels safe enough to let go. Chronic pain and tension are not permanent—they are protective responses. With skilled, whole-system care, true relief is possible.

Women That Inspire Us To Thrive

Something in the air seems to change when a woman with strong vitality enters a room. Her undefinable life force draws us in, whether it is evident in her step or her smile. Former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, poet Maya Angelou and anthropologist Jane Goodall are all iconic examples, but the capacity to thrive is inherent in each of us through small, consistent investments.

Globally, women are leading the way in consumer choices, eco-forward initiatives and sociopolitical awareness for a more sustainable and compassionate world. Whether on the frontlines fighting for worthy causes, supporting local farmers markets or putting healthy meals on the table, prioritizing self-care and learning from each other is vital. Here, four inspiring women from different walks of life divulge how they thrive in chaotic times.

Finding Her Authentic Self

Behati Hart served her country for a decade, switching between logistics, computer analysis and paralegal positions in the United States Air Force. As a woman of color in a male-dominated environment, she says she survived by crafting a persona to hide her then-undiagnosed attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and anxiety.

Today, Hart embodies what feels like a more authentic role as a multidisciplinary creator and coach. The author of Just BE: A Memoir About Unmasking and Becoming Human Again designed The BETi Method (Becoming Empowered Through Intelligence) to guide people out of trauma and identity-focused ways of living that compromise the soul’s true calling.

“We allow the world to judge us, accept those judgments as fact and begin wearing masks, titles and labels that reflect others’ expectations of how they want to experience us,” she explains. “We become afraid to experience ourselves—the good, the bad and the ugly. Unmasking is embodying ourselves so that we feel safe with who we really are.”

Noting that trauma and passion are the same energy moving in opposite directions, she says, “Trauma turns fierce aliveness inward into hypervigilance, protection or freeze responses. Passion turns that same energy outward into creation, connection and joy.”

Courtesy Behati Hart

Numerous activities feed Hart’s soul. “My forever medicines—laughter and dancing—require no prescription and provide cathartic emotional release through physical expression,” she points out. “As an earth-oriented person, being outdoors nourishes my spirit the most. My sacred garden and porch are my grounding spaces where I practice earthing—direct skin contact with the Earth’s surface—because I believe that electrons from the earth may help reduce inflammation.”

Hart believes that we can learn from each other by sharing our experiences. “We don’t always celebrate our stories, especially the stories of other women—ancient and contemporary—who survived and taught us how to become who we are,” she says. “We need survivor stories, revolutionary stories and creator stories. To thrive, we must center the well-being of women and children, while embracing heart-led living—not feminine or masculine, but feminine and masculine, in sacred balance. That’s the future I work toward.”

Enjoying a Wild and Interesting Life

Maria Rodale seamlessly moves from the boardroom to the garden and from science to spirituality, carving out a distinctly unique life while preserving an impactful family legacy. She served as chief executive officer of Rodale, Inc., the publishing company behind Prevention magazine and bestselling book titles, including An Inconvenient Truth, by Al Gore. As a passionate, third-generation advocate for

health and Earth literacy, she has penned several books of her own, including Organic Manifesto: How Organic Food Can Heal Our Planet, Feed the World, and Keep Us Safe and Love, Nature, Magic: Shamanic Journeys into the Heart of My Garden.

“I have met enough rich and famous people to know that financial success or fame is no guarantee of happiness or thriving,” she says. “I define success as a safe and warm home, a comfortable bed, good homemade food, happy and healthy kids, family and friends who love me, loving myself, the freedom to create and, of course, good health.”

Rodale prioritizes eating in-season, organic, local food, in moderation. “I also think we create the future by what we ingest—culturally and physically. Just like I avoid fast food and highly processed foods, I avoid horror movies and true crime stories,” she explains.

Her self-care habits include saying a prayer and 30 minutes of meditation in the

morning, before doing anything else, lifting weights twice a week, going for walks and adding to her gratitude list before bed. “The direct relationship we each have with our true, ‘higher’ selves and with God is unique for every person and part of our life journey to figure it out,” she says. “I listen to my own inner voice, trust my gut, not getting distracted by rage bait, not dwelling too much on the horrors that I can’t fix or control, and focusing on the things I can do.”

These are mantras she lives by and offers to others: “Stop worrying about what other people think. Treasure your weirdness. Get over your fears and get out there. Do what you, and only you, were born to do.”

Modeling a Wholesome Lifestyle

Dr. Rebecca Hunton has always wanted to make a difference, and after dedicating two decades to functional medicine, her tireless efforts shine at Radiantly Healthy, her direct-care practice in central Florida, where patients benefit from unhurried appointments, advanced diagnostics and a collaborative partnership with their healthcare team. By listening closely to her patients—mostly women—she has been able to create a responsive, personalized standard of care that conventional institutions are slow to follow.

“Our culture—especially our workplace culture—is not designed for health or wholeness,” she remarks. “We’re beating ourselves up for failing to achieve something that’s genuinely impossible. Many of

Courtesy Maria Rodale

my female patients are burned out and demoralized—not because they’re failing, but because the target was never reachable. Step one is that awareness. Step two is adding one small, achievable action, and then another. That’s where momentum starts.”

In her integrative practice, one concept emerges with great regularity: there is no health without good mental health. “You can't separate emotional health from physical vitality. I make it a non-negotiable priority, which is part of my ‘just-10-minutes’ philosophy. When time is tight, I commit to planking, the indoor bike or functional fitness, even if it’s just for 10 minutes. I maintain an affirmation and gratitude practice, and get outside on most days for some form of physical activity, often cycling.”

Because she believes that food is medicine, and one of the chief contributors to well-being, Hunton practices what she preaches to her

patients. “I love to cook,” she explains. “I’m plant-forward, but not vegetarian, and legumes and beans find their way into nearly every dish I make.”

The healing power of community is also top of mind. “I’m thriving when I’m living in close alignment with the personal vision for my life, and that includes physical activity with friends, playing duplicate bridge to keep my mind sharp, as well as teaching and leading others for growth and fulfillment,” she says. “I try to be that person now for the younger women in my life—reaching back rather than just reaching forward.”

Teaching and Learning

Sarita-Linda Rocco’s journey into wholeness was forged from a crucible of deep grief, motherhood and a life-altering neardeath experience during her mid-20s. These rollercoaster life events left her with debilitating panic attacks, and her search for stability led her to Ayurveda and yoga. Today, Rocco is a renowned teacher and founder of The Nest Collaborative, a holistic haven in West Reading, Pennsylvania.

She is also an innovator and entrepreneur, continually searching for ways to help her students thrive in their body-mind fitness journey. One invention, The Original Superblock, is a specialized prop used to support students during yoga practice.

Rocco’s way of life is straightforward but powerful. She prioritizes foods that keep her blood sugar balanced, minimizing

simple carbohydrates and focusing on clean proteins, healthy fats and seasonal vegetables. “I love cooking and find great joy in building meals around our weekly CSA [community supported agriculture] from a local organic farm,” she says. “Ayurveda spices and herbs are central in my kitchen, and hydration is foundational.”

According to Rocco, “Self-healing begins with setting boundaries with people and situations that deplete energy. I hope women remember their divine feminine power, shakti, from which their creative intelligence and life-generating energy flows. It does not compete. It creates. When women fragment that power through comparison and social pressure, something sacred is lost.”

Even now, hers is a journey of self-discovery and transformation. “Thriving is not perfection. It is honoring my energy moment to moment, knowing when to work with strength and when to rest without guilt,” she explains. “Conscious breathing stabilizes my nervous system more reliably than anything else. I practice regulating my nervous system and building resilience, not using yoga as a workout. I incorporate strength training with bands and weights to support bone health. I walk my dog twice daily most days. One of my most important rituals is fasting after dinner and going to bed by 9 p.m.”

Bone Health in Perimenopause and Beyond

BConventional medicine recommends a DEXA bone scan starting at age 65, unless there is early surgical menopause or a strong family history of osteoporosis.

For women in their 30s to 50s, prevention is key. First, consider working with a practitioner who specializes in perimenopause and menopause care. Many primary care physicians and gynecologists have limited training in menopause hormone therapy, so seeking a specialist can provide more individualized guidance. A qualified practitioner can evaluate hormone levels, review medical history and recommend personalized treatment options.

one loss in women typically does not present with symptoms until damage has already occurred. During the critical seven- to 10-year phase of perimenopause and into early menopause, women experience accelerated bone loss, especially in the spine. This may be due to declining estrogen levels, existing health conditions and certain medications. Without appropriate hormone support, women can lose at least 30 percent of their bone mass by age 80. More than 50 percent of women will experience an osteoporotic fracture in their lifetime, and the risk of hip fracture doubles every five to six years between ages 65 and 85.

Second, discuss an exercise and supplement plan. Research shows that weight-bearing exercise and strength training can increase bone mineral density and improve overall health. When combined with adequate protein intake and key nutrients such as vitamin D3, minerals and vitamin K2, these strategies can significantly support bone strength.

Taking a proactive approach is essential. Osteoporosis is preventable, not inevitable. While conventional, non-hormonal treatments can support bone health, they may carry side effects. A balanced approach that includes regular movement, a nutrient-rich diet and appropriate hormone support can help maintain strong, healthy bones for years to come.

Dr. Alicia Miller, ND, is a women’s hormone specialist focusing on anti-aging medicine and weight management. She offers telemedicine services through MyMenopauseDoctor and in-person treatments at El Con Health and Wellness, including hormone pellets, weight management and aesthetic services. Six Ways to Expand Our Energy

Energy is not something we find—it is something we cultivate. In the rhythm of daily life, small, intentional shifts can help us feel more vibrant, connected and aligned. One simple way to remember these practices is through the word ENERGY.

E = Enthusiasm

Being excited, inspired and motivated to show up each day as our best selves fuels momentum. If we can feel it, we can be it.

N = No excuses

We are living, breathing human beings with gifts to share. Consider what keeps you moving forward—whether for work or pleasure—and commit to it with consistency and intention.

E = Expression

Sharing ideas helps sustain enthusiasm and supports our goals. While it is not necessary to reveal everything before we are ready, offering encouragement to others keeps energy flowing as our own ideas evolve.

R = Receiving

Making space to receive kindness—whether through words or actions—creates a powerful mindset shift. It moves us from rigid expectations to genuine appreciation.

G = Giving

There is always something to contribute. A kind word, a thoughtful gesture or a simple act of generosity keeps the cycle of connection alive and thriving.

Y = You put it all into action

Energy is always in motion. Living with awareness and intention elevates our personal vibration and strengthens our active life force.

Together, these elements create a simple yet meaningful “recipe” for positive change. Motivational speaker, author and podcast host Mel Robbins suggests a practice to help “master your energy”: the smile game. Make eye contact with someone in passing and offer a genuine smile. Whether it is returned is not the point—the act itself is an offering of goodwill.

In these small, conscious moments, energy expands—one interaction, one intention at a time.

Between the quiet moments before the house wakes and the fleeting seconds after a meeting ends, there is a pulse. It is more than a heartbeat—it is vitality. Somewhere beneath the roles, titles and expectations accumulated over time, that inner vitality is waiting to be awakened.

Vitality is present in every living being. It is the capacity to live, grow and evolve while remaining connected to one’s authentic self. Yet for many women, that connection becomes muted. Women are often the architects of everyone else’s comfort—the emotional anchors of families, the reliable pillars in the workplace and the steady force holding daily life together. In consistently prioritizing the needs of others, personal well-being can quietly slip to the bottom of an ever-growing to-do list.

So what does “vitality her way” truly look like? It begins by shifting from simply getting through the day to fully engaging with life—physically, mentally and emotionally—at every stage.

Building a Strong Foundation

Sustainable vitality starts with the phy-

sical body. Health is not a luxury or an afterthought; it is the infrastructure that supports every aspect of life. When the body is depleted, everything else becomes more difficult to sustain. Three foundational practices create the base for renewed energy and resilience.

Daily movement is essential. This is not about achieving a certain appearance or chasing a number on the scale. It is about longevity, strength and honoring the body’s natural design. Whether it is walking, yoga, strength training or dancing, engaging in movement for at least 30 minutes a day supports both physical and mental well-being.

Nutrition is equally important. Fueling the body with whole, nutrient-dense foods, staying hydrated and minimizing alcohol intake can have a profound impact on energy levels and overall health. A simple guiding principle is to eat for nourishment first, allowing the body to function at its best.

Sleep, often sacrificed in busy schedules, is a biological necessity. Quality rest supports cognitive clarity, emotional balance and physical recovery. Creating intentional

wind-down routines—rather than falling asleep to the glow of a screen—can significantly improve sleep quality and, in turn, daily vitality.

Expanding Into Mental and Emotional Well-Being

Once a strong physical foundation is in place, vitality can expand into deeper levels of mental and emotional wellness. This process is not prescriptive; it is a personal exploration. Small, intentional shifts can lead to meaningful transformation.

One place to begin is by evaluating personal connections. Not every social interaction is energizing. Some relationships and commitments uplift and inspire, while others drain energy. Taking time to notice which interactions feel supportive—and which feel depleting—can help create space for more aligned experiences.

Reconnecting with personal passions is another powerful step. These do not need to be grand or externally validated pursuits. Simple activities that spark curiosity or joy—learning a new skill, engaging in creative expression or revisiting a forgotten hobby—can reignite a sense of aliveness. These moments of engagement help prevent the inner spark from fading.

Spending time outdoors also plays a significant role in restoring vitality. Research continues to highlight the positive effects of nature on mental health. Whether it is a walk through the neighborhood, time in a garden or a hike on a local trail, nature provides an opportunity to reset, breathe and reconnect.

Equally important is the ability to set boundaries. Learning to say no—without guilt or the need for explanation—protects time and energy. Each “yes” to something misaligned often becomes a “no” to personal well-being. Establishing clear boundaries is not selfish; it is a necessary act of self-respect.

Finally, examining internal dialogue can be transformative. Self-talk shapes perc-

Microgen on

eption and experience. While it may feel automatic, thoughts can be observed, challenged and redirected. Developing awareness of negative patterns and consciously shifting them creates new mental pathways that support resilience and clarity.

Reclaiming Personal Agency

Awakening vitality requires an honest look at how energy is being spent. A personal audit can reveal where time, attention and emotional resources are being given away unconsciously. It also raises an important question: Is permission being sought from others to rest, to pursue joy or to make meaningful changes?

The truth is that permission is not required.

Reclaiming personal agency allows vitality to return naturally. When choices are guided by alignment rather than obligation, energy shifts. Life begins to feel less like a series of responsibilities and more like a meaningful, self-directed experience.

A woman who reconnects with her vitality becomes a powerful presence—not only for herself, but for those around her. Operating from a place of fullness rather than depletion creates a ripple effect, inspiring others to do the same.

Vitality is not something to chase or earn. It is already present, waiting to be acknowledged, supported and expressed. In the quiet spaces of awareness and intention, it begins to rise—steady, strong and unmistakably one’s own.

Animal Reiki

Healing Through Presence and Respect

Animal Reiki is a gentle, consentbased practice that honors each animal’s individuality, respecting their pace, preferences and boundaries. Unlike Reiki for people, which often uses specific hand placements, Animal Reiki invites practitioners to “listen” through stillness and observation rather than touch. Connection unfolds naturally through energy, movement and awareness instead of words.

Among the varied approaches within this field, the Let Animals Lead® method, developed by Kathleen Prasad, is regarded as the gold standard. Rooted in traditional

Japanese Reiki principles, it emphasizes patience, mindfulness and noninterference. The focus is not on fixing an issue, but on creating harmony and peace, allowing healing to arise from the animal’s own readiness. This calm presence helps quiet the fight, flight or freeze response and encourages the parasympathetic “rest and digest” state essential for relaxation and trust.

Animal Reiki complements—but never replaces—veterinary or behavioral care. By easing tension and fostering emotional safety, it supports conventional treatments and improves overall well-being. Practitioners

trained in the Let Animals Lead® method complete extensive, multilevel instruction emphasizing mindfulness, meditation, respect for each animal’s agency and professional ethics. The approach is increasingly recognized among veterinarians, shelters, rescues, sanctuaries and captive wildlife centers as a valuable adjunct to lowstress handling and compassionate caregiving.

Emerging research supports what caregivers often observe firsthand. Studies show Reiki treatments can reduce pain and anxiety in humans, and a 2025 study found dogs experience similar relaxation responses during both in-person and distant sessions. Care facilities consistently report that following Reiki sessions, animals appear calmer, more cooperative and easier to handle, creating a gentler experience for all involved.

In shelters and rehabilitation settings, these effects can be transformative. Many animals arrive bearing trauma, fear or sensory overload. Reiki sessions helps reduce arousal, ease fear-based behavior and build trust, allowing animals to become more approachable and emotionally balanced—and, in the case of shelter animals, more likely to be adopted. A peaceful animal environment also benefits caregivers, making their work safer and less stressful while encouraging empathy and patience.

Reiki’s quiet power is especially meaningful for animals healing from illness, surgery or trauma, and for those in hospice or end-of-life care. It offers a sanctuary of unconditional acceptance, helping beings of all kinds find comfort and balance in their own time and way. In the stillness of shared presence, Animal Reiki reminds us that healing is not something we give, but something we hold space for—together, in mutual peace and respect.

FEEL Better, LOOK Better, SMILE More

At E Dental Solutions, we believe women deserve a more complete approach to wellness, one that goes beyond the basics and focuses on how you truly feel every day. While many women invest in fitness, skincare, and nutrition, oral health is often overlooked, even though it plays a critical role in overall well-being.

Your smile is more than cosmetic. It is connected to your total health. Gum disease and oral inflammation have been linked to heart disease, diabetes, and other systemic conditions. Hormonal changes throughout life, including pregnancy and menopause, can also impact your gums, teeth, and overall oral health. Taking care of your smile is not a luxury, it is essential.

This is Vitality, Her Way

A modern, wellness-focused approach to dentistry designed specifically for women who want to feel confident, healthy, and in control of their health. We focus on:

• Preventative care to keep your smile healthy

• Gum health and inflammation prevention

• Professional teeth whitening for a brighter, more youthful look

• Cosmetic dentistry to enhance confidence

• Restorative treatments to protect long-term health

Because when you feel confident about your smile, everything changes. You smile more. You feel more confident. You show up differently.

Make Your Smile Part of Your Self-Care Routine

Whether it has been six months or several years since your last visit, we are here to help, without judgment, with personalized care designed just for you.Join the Vitality Her Way experience and take the first step toward a healthier, more confident you.
