VENTURE FARTHER
in Iceland & Greenland Dear Traveler, For those drawn to the wildest reaches of the North, Iceland and Greenland offer nature on a grand scale. Across lands forged by fire and ice, find roaring waterfalls, hot springs, calving glaciers, and wildlife like puffins and whales. No one takes you farther afield than Nat Hab, with unique itineraries beyond conventional routes. In Iceland, we get you beyond the over-visited Golden Circle into wilder realms others don’t see. Nat Hab’s 11-day Iceland adventure provides a rare full loop around the island. And our new 9-day itinerary exploring the west of Iceland reveals a microcosm of the country, from the Snaefellsnes Peninsula to the remote, little-traveled Highlands. In Greenland, explore the untouristed east coast from our exclusive Base Camp by Zodiac, kayak and on foot. Our twocountry combination adventure pairs Iceland’s Highlands with Greenland’s fjords, coastal villages and isolated wilderness for an exhilarating Arctic journey. Throughout, our naturalist Expedition Leaders and local guides reveal the distinctive landscapes, wildlife and cultures of these two northern realms. As travel here grows, our small groups and unique routes take you deeper into a wilder side of Iceland and Greenland, away from crowds. I hope to see you out there,

Exclusive Itineraries with Nat Hab & WWF Our itineraries take you far beyond conventional routes. Our full-loop Iceland adventure reveals the whole of the island with private boat trips along sheer cliffs, hikes across ice-sculpted volcanic terrain, geothermal springs, thundering waterfalls and the remote Westfjords. Our new 9-day Wild Iceland Explorer itinerary journeys into less-traveled western realms—the stark Highlands and Snaefellsnes Peninsula, often called “Iceland in miniature.” Ride Icelandic horses, see puffins on a private cruise, explore a glacier, and soak in hot springs. In Greenland, our private Base Camp on the seldom-visited east coast sits in view of the distant ice sheet. Days unfold with hikes through tundra wildflowers, kayaking and Zodiac excursions among towering icebergs, and cultural encounters like Inuit drum dancing. For the ultimate Arctic immersion, combine both countries for an extended expedition into two of Earth’s wildest landscapes.

Small Groups For Intimate Wilderness Experiences We cap our Iceland and Greenland groups at 9–13 guests for in-depth encounters with nature. We're able to stay in boutique accommodations with local character, and every traveler gets prime seating in our vehicles. Our small group size enables quiet boat rides, perfect for observing breaching whales or close views of puffins nesting on cliffs. We navigate less-traveled roads to discover uncrowded, stunning locations. When we do visit popular sites, our nimble size allows us to visit at less-busy times and explore in quiet contexts, such as private cruises. Crucially, small groups foster a deeper connection with the Nordic landscape, culture and your fellow travelers. The result is an immersive adventure that larger tours simply cannot match.

Nat Hab's Private Flights & Specialized Vehicles In Iceland and Greenland, distances between destinations are often vast, and roads, where they exist, can be rough. We ease the journey with flights, specialized vehicles and small boats. On the ground in Iceland, Nat Hab’s deluxe Mercedes Sprinter vans get our small groups to wild places in solitude and comfort, leaving over-touristed hotspots to others. In the rugged Central Highlands, we explore via customized 4x4s modified with big tires and extra shock absorption for exclusive access to calderas, waterfalls, canyons and otherworldly vistas. Flightseeing excursions on our Photo Expeditions offer stunning aerial perspectives on the North Atlantic's icy waters, fjord-carved coasts and rugged volcanic landscapes. By combining private flights and purpose-built vehicles, Nat Hab gets you farther and deeper into the most striking and secluded parts of Iceland and Greenland.

Experience Nat Hab's Base Camp Greenland Nat Hab's private Base Camp Greenland offers rustic luxury in the Arctic, surrounded by icebound wilderness. Although it’s located in one of the most remote places on the planet, the camp provides a host of amenities usually reserved for far more civilized locales. Guests stay in eight tent cabins housing two persons each, with twin beds outfitted with warm comforters and pillows, a sitting bench, carpet runner, hanging clothing storage, and an en suite odorless dry toilet and washbasin. Built of heavy-duty vinyl on raised platforms, each cabin has a private veranda with a view of the bay and the Greenland ice sheet in the distance. Spacious cabin interiors are warmed by an individual heater, and hot showers are available in a separate bathhouse.

Unique & Remote Lodges Immerse You in Nature Amid the rugged landscapes of Iceland and Greenland, retreat to cozy lodges that blend comfort with the wild environs beyond. These small inns and guesthouses—some with just enough capacity to house our small group—prize sustainability, utilizing geothermal heat and passive solar design. Large windows flood the interiors with natural light and showcase the wilderness beyond. Most feature Nordic design elements, incorporating local materials like wood and stone, on display in Iceland’s Hotel Kria, named after the Arctic tern, and the Hotel Jokulsarlon near Vatnajokull, Europe’s largest glacier. Greenland’s Hotel Angmagssalik offers a hilltop view of the bay and village of Tasiilaq, while Hotel Kulusuk offers simple comfort and sweeping fjord views at the edge of a remote Greenlandic village. Nat Hab’s Base Camp Greenland sits in solitude near Sermilik Fjord, offering distant views of the ice sheet and a rare combination of rustic comfort and exclusivity.

Iceland holds so much awe for nature photographers, with geological drama and raw physical beauty on an epic scale. This small island nation sculpted by fire and ice is filled with stunning subjects: stark mountains, lava fields covered in velvety moss, black sand beaches, steaming craters, iceberg lagoons, and glacier-fed rivers that thunder over basalt cliffs in raging waterfalls. Offshore, whales ply the fjords and seabirds nest in noisy colonies, including the world’s largest population of Atlantic puffins. East Greenland Photo Expedition
Capture Riveting Images of Glaciers, Icebergs, Marine Life & Inuit Culture in a Little-Visited Region
On our singular itinerary in untouristed East Greenland, you’ll find an Arctic tableau few photographers have access to. Glaciers from the ice sheet spawn massive blue icebergs into Sermilik Fjord. Capture their fantastical shapes on Zodiac outings, and look for whales and seals as we paddle kayaks through the floating ice. Pointed peaks form a jagged backdrop, while tiny tundra wildflowers offer intimate subjects for macro photography. Our private base camp is a comfortable outpost in this wild Arctic realm, where we also visit Inuit villages and photograph Greenlandic sled dogs.
