Sealing •

Sealing of natural stone mosaics and tiles is required. This will protect the stone and grout joints against staining. National Tiles recommends that Spirit Premium Seal be applied as a pre-sealing treatment prior to grouting. Apply the sealer undiluted with a microfibre applicator or a dry, absorbent white cloth, allowing a minimum of 2–4 hours before commencing grouting.

After grout haze removal has been completed and the substrate is completely dry, it is ready for the final seal. Apply a coat of Spirit Premium Seal undiluted using a microfibre applicator or a dry, absorbent white cloth. Allow approximately 1 hour for the first coat to dry, then apply a second coat. Any sealer that does not penetrate the surface should be wiped off within 5–10 minutes of application using a dry, absorbent cloth. It is important that no water comes into contact with the newly sealed tiles for at least 24 hours after application.

Grouting •

Apply a premium grade thin set mortar using a 4mm V-notch trowel for small mosaics or a 6mm Square-notch trowel for larger mosaics.

Set tiles, applying pressure or tapping the surface with a rubber grout float to ensure all tiles are bonded and aligned properly. Use a level periodically to check the grout joints.
