THE NATIONAL SPORTING LIBRARY & MUSEUM HOSTS
AN EVENING WITH AMERICAN RIVERS
Reception and Presentation to Celebrate the Reveal of the 2026 Most Endangered Rivers
MIDDLEBURG, VA — The National Sporting Library & Museum (NSLM) invites the community to a special reception and discussion with the leadership and conservation experts from American Rivers on Wednesday, April 15, from 5 to 7 pm.
American Rivers has been the nation's leading voice for rivers for more than 50 years, working to ensure all rivers are clean and healthy for the people and wildlife who depend on them. The organization brings this national expertise to each unique watershed, working in close partnership with local organizations and communities.
The evening will feature remarks and a presentation by Tom Kiernan, President & CEO of American Rivers; Adam Schellhammer, Mid-Atlantic Regional Director; and Pat Calvert, Virginia Director of Conservation, reflecting on American Rivers' strengthened focus on Virginia over the past year
Guests will be among the first to witness the reveal of the 2026 Most Endangered Rivers list, a highly anticipated annual designation that draws national attention to rivers in critical need of protection.
Following the presentation, attendees are encouraged to engage with national and local conservation experts, led by Mid-Atlantic Regional Director Adam Schellhammer, to ask questions about river health, local watersheds, and conservation efforts that are underway in Virginia.
