Anza Electric Cooperative
We’ve Come a Long Way, Baby A GMC CCKW truck from the 1940s is emblazoned with the original Anza Electric Cooperative logo. It was among the cooperative’s first vehicles. The model was widely used for military transport during World War II and the Korean War. Known as the “Deuce and a Half,” the 21/2ton 6x6 cargo truck formed the backbone of the famed Red Ball Express that kept Allied armies supplied as they pushed eastward after the Normandy invasion. Join us on a walk down memory lane as Anza Electric Cooperative launches a yearlong celebration of the 65th anniversary of the founding of AEC. PHOTO BY ELI HIGGINS
