New England Morgan Regional is a show unlike any other, centrally situated in the charming town of Northampton, Massachusetts, and held on the abbreviated track at the Tri County Fairgrounds in a gorgeous valley. Though the weather was questionable in the early days of the show, with intermittent heavy rain, the pleasant temperatures made for a delightful outdoor show. The judging panel of Belle Hufferd, Kelly Kraegel, Tim Roesink, and Bill Waller saw horses from throughout the region as well as far down the East Coast to Florida and over to Kentucky, getting a break from the Southern summer and enjoying heated competition instead. Cindy Butler, Margaret Freeman, Karen HomerBrown, and Richard Luckhardt judged a full roster of sport horse competition as well, which proved the remarkable versatility of the Morgan breed. New England boasts a great deal of hospitality and fun, from the outpost of local favorite Latitudes set up in a ringside tent, to bull-riding competition, golf cart races, and a fundraiser that gave away $10,000 to the winner. The show also paused on Saturday evening to celebrate the induction of Sue Annis and Nicky Annis Caruso to the New England Morgan Horse Show Hall of Fame, all while being carried in a gorgeous carriage and driven by two Clydesdales. New England Morgan epitomizes the best of the sport, with a balance of strong competition, beautiful

horses in a lovely setting, and a lot of camaraderie and joy. It sets the stage for the Morgan Grand National to come, but with a decided summery, shellfish-and-sunshine vibe that is delightful to see.

PARK

The big-going The Optimist CH made the last victory pass of the 2026 New England Morgan Regional. He unanimously captured the win in the East Coast Park challenge after winning the qualifier; Natalie Martens shows this imposing stallion for Juniper Farms Equestrian Division LLC. The 2024 Reserve World Grand Champion in this division, he started the 2026 season with wins at Syracuse before hitting the big ring at Northampton. Queen’s Vigilance was awarded the reserve tricolor. This dark bay and Nikki Woodworth Cruz had been second in the Ladies qualifier earlier in the week, and he also won the Junior Exhibitor Park Harness Stake with Laila McCrory up, making for quite the show for this horse and owner George Fayad. Second in the Park qualifier was the exciting BVMS Pretty Lady, making her debut with Austin Hazelwood up for Rudy Hochstetler and showing for trainer Andrew Beiler. The stunning Dragonsmeade Anthracite is a brand-new partner for Sandy Hendrick, but they made a winning pair in the Ladies Park qualifier, topping that class for Isabella Vincenza Alessio under the Rand banner.

Every year SSLLC Extreme Waze CH and Allyson Wandtke have shown together, they’ve won the Amateur Park Championship and qualifier at New England. In fact, they’ve won all but two classes together at any show, and have been undefeated for the 2025 and 2026 seasons thus far. This Broadmoor-trained duo topped both classes, also giving Allyson a second tricolor in the Friday evening performance. Kevin Schengrund bred both this horse and the reserve titleist, the grand SSLLC Ironman GCH, who earned both Amateur Park reserve honors with owner Jane Bowers up, newly trained this season at Scottfield Stables. The Junior Exhibitor Park Championship saw a win for the striking Queen’s Yankee Spirit, the 2025 World Grand Champion Gelding, Park Reserve World Grand Champion, and the 15-and-Under National Champion in this division. Abigail Garrant did a beautiful job with this elegant gelding, showing to this title and a red-ribbon finish in the qualifier for A Benoit LLC and trained at Taylor River Farm. Winning that Junior Exhibitor Park qualifier was the imposing bay SDMF American Deal and owner Ellie Riva, who returned for the reserve tricolor with the support of the Luman Wadhams Stable team. The Youth Park Stake saw a great win for the Graycliff Tony GCH-bred JKH Play It Again and new partner for 2026, Laila McCrory. This duo came to New England straight off wins at Connecticut

SWEET 16 SPOTLIGHT: HYLEE’S BUSHMILL GCH AND KATIE SCHAFER

Q: WHAT FIRST DREW YOU TO HYLEE’S BUSHMILL GCH? A: Luck, pure and simple. His owner at the time broke her foot and asked me to catch-ride “Winston” at his first show with Amazeen. One of my best friends, Hilary Campbell, was there the first day I rode him and said, “Katie this is your Amateur Hunter, the one that can take you all the way.” Q: TELL US A BIT ABOUT HIS PERSONALITY. A: Winston is 100 percent show horse; he loves the spotlight, the crowd, and hearing people cheer him on. He won’t stand still on cross ties when you’re getting him ready at home, and when I walk in the barn he calls to me to greet me. Q: DO YOU TWO HAVE ANY SPECIAL PRE-CLASS ROUTINES? A: After his saddle goes on, now that he’s matured some, Winston takes a nap (I like to say he’s getting in the zone). I have a few stretches I do, and I always play the same pre-show songs before we head to the ring. Q: WHAT DO YOU FEEL SETS HIM APART THE MOST AS A HUNTER HORSE? A: His love of showing is something you can see the moment he enters the ring; he has a presence that just catches your eye. As a hunter, he has great reach and a beautiful, rounded stride at both the trot and canter, paired with a long scopey neck that he sets and never moves, all of which truly epitomize a great hunter. Q: WHAT PART OF YOUR TRAINING ROUTINE DO YOU FEEL HAS HAD THE MOST IMPACT ON KEEPING WINSTON COMPETITIVE IN HIS LATE TEENS? A: He has a consistent routine — he drives most of the week and only rides a few days, so we stay off of his back as much as possible. He also gets red-carpet treatment; if he’s going to work as hard as he does, he’s going to get the best of the best. Q: WHAT ACCOMPLISHMENT ARE YOU PROUDEST OF? A: In 2024, after losing both my grandmother and my dad within a short time, NEMHS was coming and Winston wasn’t feeling like himself, leaving me heartbroken but wanting only what was best for him. We brought him to the show to keep an eye on him and treat him as needed. Once we arrived, he walked off the trailer like nothing was wrong, was cleared by the vet, and carried us to wins in all four classes: 2 unanimously and our first Amateur Hunter Pleasure Championship, a title that had been on my bucket list for nearly 10 years. When we got home, he went right back to not feeling well, clearly showing me just how big his show horse heart was, and how much he was willing to give me when I needed him most.

Q: IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO ADD? A: Luck sent Winston my way, hard work and love from my incredible trainers, vets, and farriers keeps him in top form, and his love of the ring keeps him out there. He’s 16 and aging like a fine whiskey, and I’m the luckiest girl to be along for the ride.

The bold MJS Black Velvet, the 2025 Junior Exhibitor Park World Grand Champion, and Cora Waldron marched out with the reserve, guided by their Broadmoor team. In the Junior Park Championship and 4-YearOld Park qualifier, Sing It CH proved her talent as a performance horse as well as a mare in-hand, capturing hard-fought wins with owner Sarah Gove. Straight off wins at Connecticut Morgan, the refined chestnut Ledyard Wisteria was called out for second in both the Junior Park Championship and 4-Year-Old qualifier with John Velardi up. This 2025 Reserve World Champion is a product of the Ledyard Company LLC — by Astronomicallee and out of a Man In Motion mare — and remains owned by the organization. Tara’s Rule Of Love is proving hard to beat, carrying on the Tara Farm legacy in style. In the Open Park Harness, the spectacular Jus' Sayin’ — another stallion with multiple winners on the grounds — was announced as the unanimous winner. This was a single appearance for this homebred superstar and Peggy Alderman, showing for herself and Philip Alderman. By Caffeinated, this 2025 3-Year-Old Park Harness World Champion was then purchased by Sophia after Oklahoma, and David has been developing him since. Also by Caffeinated and bred by Buena Vista Morgans was the second-place finisher in the 4-Year-Old qualifier, as BVMS Malika Queen made her show-ring debut for that reserve with owner and trainer Leo Cordero Cruz at the lines. Winning the 3-Year-Old Park Harness was the big-going NHA Shake Me, straight off a Syracuse victory with Alicia Owens driving this EKL Shakedown CH daughter for Lamar Helmuth. In the 3-Year-Old Breeders’ Cup, David Rand was at the lines of the bold Neo, a son of As Predicted GCH, and claimed the reserve honors for George Schott.

Andrew Beiler’s entries had a great Friday night performance and overall show at New England. He made the first winning victory pass of the night, presenting PVE Pretentious to the 2-Year-Old Park Harness Stake win for Kimberly Swartz. This was this Roberto Cavalli son’s show-ring debut. Reserve honors were awarded to the talented All Dolled Up, a son of Dressed Up GCH, and Pedro Martinez, who showed for owners and breeders William Goebig and Dwayne Knowles.

The absolutely stunning Sand Ridge Pazazz finished the week as the East Coast English Pleasure Grand Champion. With a delicate blaze face, rich bay coloring, a perfect topline, and athleticism to match, this stallion is the whole package. This was his first show since 2024. Natalie Martens showed him masterfully to this title following a reserve in the Ladies English Pleasure qualifier, gaining the tricolor for Pazazz LLC. Reserve honors in this great

This 5-year-old debuted to victory at Gold Cup before hitting the big ring at Northampton to win the Limit and leave with a reserve tricolor in the open ranks. The five-entry Ladies English Pleasure Championship saw a great win for the flashy Can’t Stop The Moonlight and Jeanne Fuelling, who stood out in a beautiful shimmering green jacket. This duo also won the 10-entry Amateur Ladies English Pleasure qualifier earlier in the week, trained by Jenny and Jim Taylor. Just last year, this youngster was the UPHA Pleasure Driving Classic Grand Champion and 4-YearOld Reserve World Champion with trainer Jim Taylor. The graceful CN Restless Love GCH and Allyson Wandtke claimed the reserve finish in the Ladies Championship, following a top three in the Amateur Ladies qualifier; they showed with the guidance of the Broadmoor team. FCM Kingdom Come GCH and Kathryn Healy arrived at New England directly off wins at Syracuse. Trained by Ken and Jane Swanson, they claimed the Amateur Ladies red ribbon and returned for the top-three finish on Saturday night. In the Ladies English Pleasure, Julianne Rafferty Hazelwood made a winning ride with the stellar DSD Party Girl CH, returning to the Pleasure ranks with aplomb and making just this single appearance for Dave and Stephanie Draper. Second in the English Pleasure and the Amateur Pleasure Driving qualifiers was CRMS Blinding Lights. Trainer Matt Lightner showed him to the under-saddle win, while owner Amy Roberts drove him to the red ribbon. This horse was actually purchased at New England last year

Trainer Travis Neidlinger has shown him with success this year after Alice purchased him at the end of the 2025 season. Last year, Kelly Kraegel showed DRHF Imagine That CH to the Ladies English Pleasure Championship win, and Allyson Wandtke purchased the mare immediately after, going on to win the Amateur English Pleasure World Championship in the fall. This year, Allyson brought her back to New England to face a judges’ panel that included Kelly and put on a great show. In a flashy black and white floral coat, she topped the Amateur English Pleasure Championship in unanimous fashion, following a qualifying victory earlier in the week under the Broadmoor banner. Saralin Nolo Contendere and Casey McDonald Douglass were announced for the reserve tricolor, showing under the Rose Haven banner for Firewind Morgans. Austin Hazelwood also showed this powerful entry during the week for the English Pleasure qualifying win. Reserve in the Amateur English Pleasure qualifier went to the reigning Reserve World Champion, Firemark Infinite Jest, with owner Lauren Foy up and training from Cater Stables. Winning the Masters English Pleasure qualifier was Unabated, a stunning entry with owner Linda Redding in the irons. This team trains at Chestnut Lane. Ledyard Unity CH and Holly Johnson earned the reserve title, trained at Broadmoor and showing for Holliston Stables LLC. In the Youth English Pleasure Championship, Equinox Heirosmith and Emma von Ballmoos claimed the win, following a reserve finish in the qualifier. They showed for East of Equinox Farm Inc. The high-stepping TLP Ranunculus and Annabelle Lewis claimed the reserve honors, showing for trainer Will Vidler, after a top three in the qualifier to start the week. Cora Waldron was in the winner’s circle with her new Broadmoor-trained mount DSL Midnight Rider CH in both the Youth English Pleasure qualifier and the Youth Pleasure Driving Stake. This horse won the Youth English Pleasure class in 2025 as well, paired with then-owner and barnmate Nicky Shample. Reserve in the Youth Pleasure Driving Stake went to All Aces and owner Bevin O’Gorman, who are trained by Anne Benson. Making just a single appearance for the 4-Year-Old English Pleasure blue was another outstanding young mare, Total Epic, a Dressed Up GCH daughter presented by Alicia Owens for Show Shoes LLC. The 3-Year-Old English Pleasure saw a clean sweep for Salem Farm-bred stars. The upheaded Salem Shabby Chic was beautiful for the win, shown by Austin Hazelwood for owners and breeders Peggy and Phil Alderman. This filly is by Jus’ Sayin’ and out of Not Too Shabby. The equally impressive, powerful Salem North Starr earned the reserve title with David Cater up for Sara and Mike Foy. Purchased from Peggy and Phil last autumn, this gelding is by Dragonsmeade Axios and out of the great Brenda Starr. Both 11-and-Under Walk-and-Trot English Pleasure combinations involved a trainer’s kid, and they’ve been duking it out with these two horses for a couple of years. In the Championship, the soft-faced Dragonsmeade Varvatos GCH and Blake Neidlinger earned the win after taking second in the qualifier. This 19-year-old horse has earned titles for years, and now sweetly partners with Blake under the family’s Lingering Hills banner — they earned a reserve World tricolor last year. The arch-necked CFF Personal Advantage GCH and Presley Rand won the qualifier and returned for the reserve tricolor. The unstoppable, many-titled Dragonsmeade Provenance GCH and Sara Foy continued their strong 2026 season with the Ladies Pleasure Driving Championship victory on Thursday night after taking reserve in the Ladies qualifier and reserve in the combined Pleasure Driving Championship with David Cater steering. “Teddy,” as he is known to those who love him, looks better than ever after wins at Gasparilla, Greater Boston, and Syracuse.

The reigning World Champion in both the Masters and combined Pleasure Driving ranks, this high-headed chestnut is hard to miss, and Tony does a great job showing off his strong trot. They won the Amateur Pleasure Driving Championship in unanimous fashion on Saturday night, following their qualifying blue. The whitefaced Dreaming Music and Roxanne Cason finished the Saturday night session with a wellearned reserve tricolor, showing with the support of the Possibility Stables team. Winning the Junior Exhibitor Pleasure Driving Stake was the lovely SDMF Dragon Again, presented skillfully by Gavin Gove for the Gove Family Partnership. This Taylor River-trained duo just came together to victories at Connecticut Morgan and certainly looks ready for more. The thrilling Dragonsmeade Synergy and Ellie Riva were out for the reserve title in this nice class, showing with the support of Luman Wadhams. In the Junior Pleasure Driving Championship, the winner of the UPHA 4-Year-Old qualifier returned for the victory when David Rand presented The Missing Link to these ribbons. This star is by Queen’s Yankee Spirit and out of TTMF French Enchantress (BHOF); a Reserve World Champion under saddle and the Grand Champion Stallion at New England last year, he returned for a clean sweep of the driving ranks in 2026. Reserve honors in this Championship were awarded to the bright VDM Hot To Trot and Beth Mitchell, who train at Scottfield Stables. The 13-entry Masters qualifier was won by the reigning Reserve World Champion in this division, NJH Derranger CH and owner Karen Waugh, who made a great show with the support of the MonteRae team. The Broadmoortrained OKF All Dressed Up and Tara Good made their first-ever show a memorable one. Tara showed this Dressed Up GCH-bred gelding to the qualifying reserve, returning for the hard-earned top-three spot in the Masters Championship. World Champion SSLLC Flyte Tyme and Parker Rand have been hard to beat from their Walk-and-Trot days, and they transitioned to the Junior Exhibitor Classic Pleasure ranks last year with aplomb. For the second year in a row, they earned both the combined Championship and the 13-and-Under qualifier at New England, showing for Sheaffer Farm. Reserve in both classes went to the beautiful Stolen Halo CH and owner Ivy Morgan, the 13-and-Under Reserve World Champions last year. This team trains with George Liberty and Natalie Martens. The reserve rankings in both offerings were awarded to the stately Playmor’s Afterburner, with Bonnie Cunningham up for Sound Financial Decisions LLC and guided by Cate Lynch. It’s Whispering Fire claimed reserve in the Limit Classic Pleasure Driving class, a Rand-trained entry presented to the title by owner Melissa Keene. In the Limit Driver Classic Pleasure Driving offering, Isabella Didden made this victory pass for the third time with her charming Radical Atomic Force, trained by Anne Benson. In the 11-and-Under Walk-and-Trot Classic Pleasure ranks, the delicate EQN Remington and Eva Bean made a clean sweep. They won both classes with the support of Luman Wadhams, who also owns this expressive gelding. Reserve in the East Coast Classic Pleasure Driving Championship went to Unabashed CH, an eyecatching gelding driven by owner Stacey Foster. This Broadmoor-trained duo also earned the victory in the Masters Classic Pleasure Driving qualifier. In the Classic Pleasure Driving qualifier, the graceful Word To The Wise claimed the red ribbon. My mom spends enormous amounts of time getting me to the barn and shows, and this can be a very expensive sport. I’m also thankful to my grandma — without her, none of this would be possible. She loves the horses and always wants to learn more about them. I’m thankful to the whole von Ballmoos family; they have put so, so much work into me and my horses for the past year. They have taught me so much, and they take the best care of both of my horses. They have dedicated a tremendous amount of effort and time to making me successful. Finally, I’m thankful to my friends who are always on the rail cheering me on and giving me so much support and encouragement! 3 THINGS I WOULD TAKE WITH ME ON A DESERTED ISLAND: My friends, my horses, and some sort of way to listen to music. In the 11-horse Ladies qualifier, RRVE Heavy Crown CH claimed the blue, shown by Holly Johnson for Tara Farm LLC under the Broadmoor banner. The Taylor River team just successfully adjusted the expressive RDF Bell Ringer to the Classic ranks at Connecticut Morgan, with young Aiden Field at the lines. At New England Morgan, they earned the qualifying reserve in the Junior Exhibitor Classic Pleasure Driving division, then returned for the well-earned victory in the Championship. The highheaded CBMF Still The One made the trip for the reserve tricolor on Saturday afternoon, presented by Natalie Coyle for Caitlin and Tamra Lynch. Alphastar Carmen’s Agent GCH aced the qualifier with Parker Rand at the lines, and they returned for the top three in the Championship. Three entered the Junior Classic Pleasure Driving Championship, which saw a unanimous win by the high-stepping Leading Lady; Ellie Riva presented for owner and trainer Luman Wadhams. This is a new division for this mare and she is a perfect fit for it; she swept both the Championship and qualifier. Out for second was the handsome, white-faced Daddy Warbucks and Juliana Potts, who floated along for the title for owner Cecily Karle with the guidance of trainer Cate Lynch. Second in the qualifier with a single appearance for the week was Dressed For The Party. This Dressed UP GCH-bred mare made her show-ring debut with owner Kimberly Swartz to this reserve, showing with the support of Andrew Beiler.

HUNTER PLEASURE

For the second year in a row, Cingate Starstruck made the victory pass in the East Coast Hunter Pleasure Championship, with trainer Amanda DuPont up for Ashleigh Wood. This lovely entry — who covers ground despite her small stature — was out for the blue in the Hunter Pleasure Mare as well. The dark Ledyard Sebastian made an impressive showing for the reserve tricolor on Saturday night. Trainer Scott Neidlinger showed this talented horse for Ocean View Morgans LLC. Tomeri Royal Attire and Sarah Gove made just a single appearance at New England to win the Hunter Pleasure Stallion/Gelding with a masterful performance, showing for Amanda Field (with whom he earned two strong top-three finishes in the Amateur ranks). The great Derawnda Lincoln (CN) GCH also made just a single open appearance for the reserve in the Hunter Pleasure Stallion/Gelding, exhibited by trainer Amanda DuPont for Allison Munson. Allison presented him to the top-three finish in the Youth Championship. Reserve in both the Hunter Pleasure Mare and the Youth Hunter Pleasure Mare belonged to the lovely Sarde’s Pandemonium, presented by Addison Bly. This bold pairing is trained at CPM Stables.

Lainey Antonow was absolutely thrilled to win the Ladies Hunter Pleasure tricolor with Ledyard Valentino, presenting this Waterford-trained beauty to the win for Colleen Baptist. Last year, this horse was the 4-Year-Old Hunter Pleasure World Champion and UPHA Classic Grand Champion, and has already taken on the tough Ladies division with success as just a 5-year-old. Amanda DuPont had a great week across the divisions at New England. She was out for the reserve Ladies Hunter Pleasure tricolor, earning both Ladies reserves with REMF Foremost, presenting him for Silicon Valley Ranch. The beautiful MJH Dreamt Up and Kimberly Lucas topped the Ladies Hunter Pleasure class along with the Amateur Hunter Pleasure Mare class. This just 4-year-old filly, a 3-YearOld Reserve World Champion last year, returned for

A brand new partner for her, this show was their debut, and they finished the week with this tricolor along with the Youth Hunter Pleasure Mare victory and Amateur Hunter Pleasure Mare reserve honor, all with the guidance of the Rand team. Hylee’s Bushmill GCH is no stranger to the winner’s circle at New England. The spectacular Acorn Ridge Magneto CH and Jeanne Chickering had a wonderful time in Northampton. Trained by Tammy Levesque, this duo won the Amateur Hunter Pleasure Stallion/Gelding 15.2-and-Under and swept both the Road Hack Championship and qualifier. They were also reserve in the Amateur Ladies Hunter Pleasure 15.2-andUnder, all in deep competition. Out for second in the Amateur Ladies Over 15.2 qualifier was the impressive Merriehill Red Dawn, with owner Jodi Turati riding with the support of trainer Scott Travers. In the Masters Hunter Pleasure Championship, Kim Cramer made her return trip to the show ring with the well-bred Wingman. When last she showed him, he was a Park star, but John Velardi has carefully adjusted his training to bring out a truly thrilling hunter in both conformation and way of going. John debuted him to wins in the Hunter Pleasure division at Tri-State All Morgan before Kim took the ring at New England to win this Masters title, as well as two reserves in the Masters and Amateur Stallion/Gelding Over 15.2 qualifiers. Live Action GCH and Jennifer Grey topped the Masters Hunter Pleasure class to start the week; they returned for a strong reserve tricolor with the guidance of Katie Mair. The Road Hack reserve tricolor was awarded to SKF On The Money and Laurin Johnson, who were powerful and mannerly with the assistance of trainer Amanda DuPont. Meadowmist Man On The Run GCH and owner Melanie Pyanowski , winners of the Grand National Road Hack Finals last year, were out for the red-ribbon finish in the Road Hack qualifier, returning for the top-three Championship finish under the Amazeen banner. 20 entered the Youth Hunter Pleasure Championship, and for the second year in a row, the great Valley Acres Who Dat GCH and owner Annabelle Crotty were crowned the Grand Champions. Also for the second year, they earned the Youth Stallion/ Gelding qualifying win; this marked their fifth straight year earning a tricolor at New England — one for every year of their successful career together under the Taylor River banner. Sydney LoCascio had her beloved partner Feel That Fire GCH in perfect form on Saturday for the reserve tricolor, showing as always with her family’s Dreamway South program. Rolling Oaks Morgans has a great string of hunters and young riders at the moment, including the poised Radiant Superstar CH, who claimed the 12-entry Hunter Pleasure 16-17 Championship victory. The winner of the 16-17 qualifier returned for the hardfought Championship reserve, as Arcola’s Stirred Up and Madeline Thomas Higgins earned both titles. Following wins at Michigan All Morgan, Morgan Gold Cup, and Tri-State All Morgan, this Dreamway Southtrained team headed all the way to Massachusetts for these additional titles. The beautiful Tomeri Antoinette GCH has a new partner this year in Kacie Shelzel. Trained as always by the Taylor River team, the 2025 16-17 World Champion

started the season with wins at Connecticut Morgan. After a reserve in Section 2 of the 13-and-Under qualifiers, this pairing made the trip to the winner’s circle in the combined Championship. Dragonsmeade Odin GCH and Raegan McCrory won Section 1 with a great ride and returned later in the week for the wellearned reserve tricolor, trained to both titles by Anne Benson. Circus Boy GCH, partnered with Aiden Field, claimed the blue in Section 2; this Taylor River-trained duo returned for the top-three finish in the 13-andUnder Championship. In Section 1, reserve honors went to BRMF Final Explosion CH, a new partner for Allison Gordon, who rode for her mom Nicole Gordon. This Cater-trained team made their debut together to this New England title and returned on Friday afternoon to win the 15-entry Limit Rider Hunter Pleasure class with a beautiful performance. Reserve honors in the Limit Rider class were awarded to EKL Katmandu and owner Sue Charpentier, who were supported by the Amazeen team. The exciting newcomer Avodah Sun Dress won both the Junior Hunter Pleasure Championship and the 3-Year-Old Hunter Pleasure qualifier. This glorious mare is being developed and presented by Sarah Gove for Sara Pizzuto, and already has wins at UPHA Chapter 14 and Greater Boston to start her career out right. Second in the 15-entry Junior Championship was awarded to KM Vintage Star, with Delaney McGrath up. This BKC Valiant Star son was also reserve in the Limit Hunter Pleasure qualifier for owner Jeanne Mary Stewart, trained by Christine Nava-Moulthrop. In the 4-Year-Old/UPHA Classic challenge, Sarah Gove also made the victory pass, presenting Laing Hill Rob Roy to the title for Amanda Hill and David Beauregard. Ledgefields Livinthedream and Amanda DuPont won the Limit Hunter Pleasure blue and took second in the 4-YearOld/UPHA Classic, returning for the top-three finish in the Junior Championship for Ashleigh Wood. Wing And A Prayer, another exciting youngster by Merriehill After Hours GCH and out of SPR Wing It (BHOF), was out for the reserve honors in the 3-YearOld class. John Velardi presented this talented filly for owner and breeder Michelle Quinlisk. Teagan Dixon has put in the work with her beautiful Ledyard Ultimate Joy. Now in her second year with this young mare, they are a seamless team. They marched off with the Walk-and-Trot Hunter Pleasure 11-and-Under tricolor following a reserve title in the qualifier. This duo is trained by Keith Friday. Ham Suit Yourself and Gabriella Sherburne made two reserve-tricolor rides at New England. Trained at Taylor River Farm, this adorable pairing earned the reserve in this Walk-and-Trot Hunter Pleasure 11-andUnder Championship as well as the 11-and-Under Walk-and-Trot Hunter Equitation Championship. All the more remarkable: this sweet gelding had never been shown before this spring, debuting with Gabriella in his first show just at Greater Boston Charity. For the second year in a row, the East Coast Western Pleasure Championship saw a victory by the graceful Hollybrook Rembrandt and Ryne Swope. Owner Daisy Beisler had shown him to a strong second in the Amateur Western Pleasure class earlier in the week, but offered Ryne the chance to show him back for this big repeat win. The beautiful bay HRL Super Star Captivator GCH had a wonderful

With trainer Katie Mair up, he made the trip down victory lane in the Ladies Western Pleasure Championship after a reserve in the Ladies qualifier. Katie showed him for GW Morgans LLC. The perfectly pleasurable bay The Mastercraft SS and trainer Judy Nason were announced for reserve in the Ladies Championship, making a consistent show for owner Erica Bagley. This is just this gelding’s second show in the Western ranks after a career in Hunter Pleasure, and he is perfectly suited to it. The striking DBS White Winter GCH won both the Ladies and Amateur Western Pleasure qualifiers, presented to each title by Natalie Golota with the guidance of David Rand. Hannah Kelley Nicoletti made her 2026 debut with the gorgeous VL Todd Michael to win both the Amateur Ladies Western Pleasure Championship and the Amateur Western Pleasure Championship, showing with the support of Christine NavaMoulthrop. Christine has already presented this elegant chestnut gelding to wins at Greater Boston and Syracuse International this year. HD Kingston CH and owner Kimberly Brow were poised for the reserve tricolor in the Amateur Ladies division, guided by trainer Judy Nason from the rail. In the Amateur Ladies class, Exceed’s Legend earned the victory with owner Kylie Alexander. This young star — a 2025 Reserve World Champion by Ledgefields Jagged Edge GCH — is quickly developing into a graceful Western star with training from David Rand. He and Kylie also earned the top three in the Ladies Western Pleasure Championship. HSV Flying Cloud and Jane Downey are no strangers to Northampton; they returned this year for the red ribbon in the Amateur Ladies class, trained by Scott Neidlinger for Little Bit Of Luck LLC. The Masters Western Pleasure Championship saw a great win out of a field of 10 for Fully Charged and Marian Grimes Burlingame. Trained by Melissa Morrell, this is their first season together and this tricolor marks their first victory pass, a particularly exciting one in Northampton. Commanders Flaire GCH and Holly Johnson were called out for reserve in this good Championship, claiming that title with the support of trainer Amanda DuPont. Second in the Masters qualifier went to I Am Johnny Cash, presented by owner Sherri Snook Bos with the guidance of trainer Lindsay Perry Atkinson from the rail. In the Youth Western Pleasure, the stunning black VL Dragonheart and Gavin Gove claimed a clean sweep of the ranks for Brooke Gove Rogers under the Taylor River banner. Hylee’s Spotlight GCH and Hannah Stewart made their first appearances for 2026 at New England and earned both Youth reserves. This beautiful bay was perfectly presented to these titles with the support of trainer Manya Smalley. At 21 years of age, Tracemark Top Shelf GCH still has an incredible show-ring presence. He made the victory pass in the Junior Exhibitor Western

This duo came all the way up the coast with Tricia Waclena following wins at Gasparilla and Citrus Cup. The winner of the qualifier, the beautiful DTA Aces Wild, was out for the reserve tricolor with Allie Awwad doing a great job under the Dreamway South banner. The just 4-year-old RYS Absolut Crown Prince partnered with owner AJ Billets to gain the qualifying red ribbon, supported by Amanda DuPont. Amanda DuPont made the victory pass with The Latest Trend JY GCH in the Limit Western Pleasure offering. The World Grand Champion Stallion last year, this was his Western debut and he is a perfect fit for

The 3-Year-Old Reserve World Champion last year with Amanda DuPont last year, Ryne Swope continues to develop this talented son of Acorn Ridge Take It Easy for owner Richard Weaver. The stately bay TMW Outback Spirit and David Rand claimed the reserve title in both the Junior Championship and 4-Year-Old class. This Cool

LKKB Suit And Tie, a Dressed Up GCH son, was announced for the reserve honor in the 3-Year-Old qualifier with Amanda DuPont up for Ashleigh Wood, following debut wins at Connecticut Morgan. The Western Pleasure Walk-and-Jog 9-andUnder World and National Champion last year, Hard To Be Humble GCH returned to the big ring to win the Western Pleasure Walk-and-Jog 11-and-Under Championship, following a strong second in the qualifier. Owner Ella Banks presented him smartly for both wins, showing under the Lingering Hills banner. This entry then returned on Saturday afternoon with Devon Teran up for the Limit Rider Western Pleasure victory, giving him wins in Northampton with two different riders across age groups and divisions. Scarlett Day has a new partner in the lovely Fire Run Emerald City; they were picture perfect for the Walkand-Jog 11-and-Under blue and earned the reserve tricolor at the end of the week, trained by Adriana Day. Reserve honors in the Limit Rider class were awarded to the refined JNS In Like Flynn, presented by Hannah Stetson for Megan Merritt with encouragement from Meadowmere Farm.

EQUITATION

Demonstrating talent across the seats, young Annabelle Maloney won tricolor ribbons in Hunter, Saddle Seat, and Western Equitation, all across a single day. Instructed at Fairview Stable, Annabelle finished a historic day with a unanimous victory in the Saddle Seat Equitation Championship after also capturing that qualifier to start the week. Earlier on Saturday, she started the morning with the Junior Hunter Equitation Championship, delivering a mature performance on the rail and during the complex pattern. That same afternoon, she made a smart and consistent ride to win the Western Equitation Championship in unanimous fashion. Annabelle started her week with reserve titles in the 13-and-Under Hunter Equitation qualifier and the Western Equitation class. Hannah Stewart ended her week with two reserve tricolors. She finished her show with the reserve in the Saddle Seat Equitation Championship immediately after — clad in stunning white — she made a great ride in the Western Equitation Championship for the first of her two tricolors. This elegant rider, the 14-17 Western Equitation World Champion last year, also earned the Western Equitation blue and pinned her ribbons to the Dreamway South banner. Heidi DiRusso had a great week at New England across the divisions. She made both victory passes in the Classic Equitation ranks, topping both the Championship and qualifier with the support of the Rand team. Livia Martinack was precise for both reserve honors; she’s instructed by Adriana Day. Last year, Emma Westgate claimed reserve in two classes at New England during her debut out of the Leadline ranks. This year, she has taken the Walk-andTrot Saddle Seat Equitation division by storm, winning the 8-and-Under titles at Greater Boston before coming to New England to sweep the Walk-and-Trot

Everly Becker, straight off wins at Inter-County Triple and Gold Cup, came to New England from Ohio to claim the reserve tricolor, instructed by the Hummels. Reserve in the Walk-and-Trot Equitation 11-andUnder qualifier was awarded to Everly’s barnmate Bella Limperos. In the UPHA Walk-and-Trot 10-and-Under Challenge Cup, Ella Banks made the victory pass with a great ride and brought her ribbon back to Lingering Hills. Reserve in that nice class of two was awarded to Samantha Nagle, who made her first appearance for 2026 instructed by Andrea and Chris Kelley. Tatym Levesque took the Hunter Equitation division by storm. After a strong reserve in the AMHA Hunter Silver Medal, she took on the 12-entry 14-17 Hunt Seat Equitation Championship on Saturday

morning and earned the tricolor victory with instruction by her family’s Wingedspur Farm. Stella Carrara has stepped into the Senior Equitation division this year with aplomb. The AMHA Hunter and Saddle Seat Gold Medal Finals winner last year at 13, this Rose Haven-trained star gracefully claimed the reserve tricolor in the Hunter Equitation 14-17 Championship at New England. Zoe Kovanis-Wilson, who rides with Katie Mair, topped the Senior Hunter Equitation qualifier and returned for the top-three finish in the Senior Equitation Championship. Madeline Thomas-Higgins was out for the red ribbon in that Hunter Equitation qualifier, showing under the Dreamway South banner. In the AMHA Hunter Silver Medal, Kamrynn Luby made the victory pass, instructed by Katherine Bennett. Allie Awwad earned the nod from the judging panel in the 13-and-Under Hunter Equitation qualifier, returning for the well-earned reserve tricolor in the Junior Championship. Manya Smalley instructed her to both titles. Ella Neidlinger focused on Hunter competition at New England this year, and with good reason. She was poised for both Walk-and-Trot Hunter Equitation 11-and-Under victories and did her family at Lingering Hills proud. Gabriella Sherburne, who is instructed at Taylor River Farm, made a great comeback ride for the reserve tricolor. In the Walk-and-Trot Equitation 11-and-Under qualifier, Elizabeth Doleski earned the votes for second out of a field of 14, guided from the rail by Anne Benson. Tricia Waclena’s star riders demonstrated their talents on and off the rail to sweep the AMHA Western Silver Medal, with Ella Kate Payne earning the win and Reese Young taking reserve. Scarlett Day continued her winning ways in the Equitation division by topping both the Walk-andJog Western Equitation 11-and-Under Championship and class, supported by Adriana Day. Reserve honors in both classes were awarded to the skillful Walden Kahn, a star instructed by Manya Smalley. Madison Hoffmeyer, the 2024 Senior Saddle Seat Equitation World Champion and AMHA Saddle Seat Gold Medal Finals winner, has returned to the Equitation division as an adult this year. Still instructed by Manya Smalley, she was powerful for the clean sweep of the Adult Equitation division at New England. Kasey Roza, who shows as an amateur/ owner/trainer, was impressive and consistent for the reserve tricolor, after a top three in both the qualifier and the AMHA Hunter Silver Medal. The judges awarded reserve in the Adult Equitation qualifier to Lauren Marshall, who rides with Katherine Bennett. Lauren also competed in the Sport Horse divisions, showing CBMF Status Symbol to the Ranch Rail and Western Dressage Basic Level Test 2 wins, as well as reserves in English/Western Trail and two Ranch Riding patterns. The reigning Reserve World Grand Champion Exceed’s Exuberant continued an undefeated 2026 season by flying out of the ring at Northampton with the East Coast Roadster to Bike tricolor and qualifying blue, presented to both wins by Jim Taylor for Victory Lane LLC. For the second year in a row, Winterset ThymeAfterThyme was called out for the reserve tricolor with a quick-paced drive, shown by owner and trainer David Champion. The current World Champion Highover Katharine made just a single speedy performance for the second-place finish in

The Queen’s Sebastian GCH-bred entries dominated the In-Hand competition at New England. In the Stallion ranks, the striking King-Of-Rock claimed three titles for MonteRae Farm, presented by Josh Noble and Nikki Woodworth-Cruz. He topped the East Coast Stallion Grand Championship and Senior Stallion Championship as well as the 3-and4-Year-Old Stallion win. The handsome Keepin’

Busy earned both the Reserve Grand and Senior Championships after seizing the blue ribbon in the 5-and-Over Stallion qualifier. David Rand was at the line, presenting this Get Busy son for Latour Morgans. Reserve in the 5-and-Over class was awarded to the RWF Dralion-sired Exceeds Vincent, presented by Travis Neidlinger for Ivan King. Second in the 3-and4-Year-Old class was Adventurousllee, a talented colt by Astronomicallee, a homebred star presented by Jeremy Hummel for himself and Taylor Hummel. DWS Mr. French claimed the Junior Colt and 2-Year-Old Colt titles, straight off a debut win at Connecticut Morgan. Sarah Gove led this star, by Futurity French Command and out of a Continental Vision-bred mare, for Great Island Morgan Horses LLC. Man City was out for both reserves in the Junior and 2-Year-Old Colt competition. David Rand showed this Man In Black GCH-sired colt for Elizabeth Poirier and Amanda Nicastro. Sing It CH has royal bloodlines, by Merriehill After Hours GCH and out of SPR Wing It GCH (BHOF). The World Champion Mare the last two years, she earned the East Coast Grand Champion, Senior Champion, and 3-and-4-Year-Old Mare wins, as well as Junior Park victories. Sarah Gove presented her to all these titles for the Gove Family Partnership. Reserve in all three classes went to the graceful Another Crazy Idea, another mare by Merriehill After Hours GCH, this time out of another great show mare — VVM Another Dream GCH. Julianne Rafferty Hazelwood presented her to the titles for Monty Kugeler. MCS Drama Queen has a beautiful look and perfect conformation. Stephen Longo presented this JW Standing Tall-sired filly to the Champion Junior Filly title and 2-Year-Old Filly win, showing for Melissa Curtis. Reserve honors in both classes went to the aptly named She’s A Real Knockout, an EKL Shakedown CH-bred filly owned and shown by Joshua Piatt. Queen’s Yankee Spirit showed his talents across the divisions at New England. Trainer Sarah Gove presented him to the East Coast Grand Champion Gelding and 5-and-Over Gelding wins, just as she did at Connecticut Morgan, and Abigail Garrant helped him to the the Junior Exhibitor Park reserve. Sarah and Abigail both showed for A Benoit LLC. The East Coast Reserve Grand Champion Gelding was also the winner of the 3-and-4-Year-Old Gelding challenge, the elegant Queens Bodacious. This marked this Queen’s Sebastian GCH-sired entry’s first outing to the show ring, shown by Nikki Woodworth-Cruz for Jennifer McCrory LLC. Second-place honors in the 3-and-4-Year-Old Gelding class belonged to Queens Iceman, a half-sibling also by Queen’s Sebastian GCH and shown by Stephen Longo for breeder and owner Queens River Farm Inc. In the 2-and-Under challenge, Tequila Or Nothing made his debut for the win. By Kinzu All Or Nothing, this gelding is owned and was shown by trainer Jaisen von Ballmoos. Last year, Hygreet Pistol Pete was reserve in the competitive Specialty In-Hand. This year, he stepped

up to win the class, led by Savanna Pace for Sarah Johnson. Heated Discussion and owner Hallie Blaine, the World Champion in Specialty In-Hand last year, claimed the reserve honors. In the Sport Horse In-Hand Stallion/Gelding, Little Acre Hawk Eyes claimed the title. This is the grandson of Whispering In the Wind GCH, who also competed in the sport divisions at New England this year. Owner Devon Teran led him to this title and presented him to the Dressage Intro Level Test of Choice victory under the Lingering Hills banner. Reserve in the Sport Horse In-Hand Stallion/Gelding was SKF Jaden, with trainer Katherine Speer leading for Everly Jones. She also presented him to the Dressage Training Level Test 1 and Intro Level Test C wins and reserve in the Training Level Championship. Stoneleigh Time After Thyme claimed the win in the Sport Horse In-Hand Mare, with Rebecca Lawlor at the line for owner Mary Ellen Mulligan, who also earned two reserves in First Level Dressage. Laing Hill Atha CH claimed the reserve ribbon in the In-Hand Mare, with Natalia Swan BarNoy leading. Owner Lynda Swan BarNoy also drove this star to wins in the Obstacles Fault-and-Out Limit Carriage Driving and Carriage Dressage Training Level Test 2 Limit, with additional reserves in the Limit Pick Your Route Obstacles and Double Jeopardy classes, trained by Kaylee Angstadt.

SPORT HORSE HIGHLIGHTS

In the Sport Horse Under Saddle Championship, the judging panel all agreed on Owlwood Wild Valentine GCH as the winner, following a reserve in the qualifier as well as wins in Dressage Third Level. Peighton Tapley showed this gelding to both the Sport Horse and Dressage titles, as well as the Dressage Equitation win, for Deanna Levesque; Stella Merrill also earned the AMHA Dressage Seat Gold Medal aboard him. Deanna also owns and trains the Sport Horse Under Saddle Reserve Grand Champion BJ’s Superman, who was shown to this title and the AMHA Dressage reserve by Gia Cannamucio. Karen North presented her UVM Van Doren CH to a number of wins in sport competition, winning the Prix St. Georges I and II, the FEI Dressage Open Championship, Dressage Fourth Level Tests 1 and 3, Dressage Fourth Level Championship, and three Western Dressage Level 1 tests. Chris Cassenti’s teams always excel in the sport divisions. Cecilia Bergeron Allen presented Whispering In The Wind GCH to the winner’s circle in the Western Dressage Basic Level Tests 1, 3, and 4, plus a Level 1 Test 2 win. Trainer Katherine Speer helped Smash Hit and owner Caitlin Lewis ace the Dressage Training Level Tests 2 and 3, plus the Dressage Training Championship. Susan Fowler brought her Swans Cat Ballou out for two Dressage tests, the First Level Test of Choice and Test 1, and earned the blue in both. Winning the English/Western Trail offering and claiming two Ranch Riding pattern victories as well as a Ranch Rail reserve was Little Oaks Custom Chrome

Meritage River’s Promise GCH was out for the good reserve in the East Coast Carriage Driving Championship with Dawn Severance at the lines for Clara Hendin. he ordinarily-sweltering Las Vegas sun eased just in time for the 64th annual Morgan Medallion. With temperatures not even reaching 90 all week, it was a surprisingly balmy week in the desert and a welcoming setting for Morgans all over the West to show off their beauty, athleticism, and versatility. The Western classes

in particular were impressively full, making every win in these ranks well-earned. The fundraising Pro-Am class toward the end of Morgan Medallion is always a highlight, and this year featured a special family tie between the top two. Gregory Holzschuher and Oxsana, Grand Champions of the Morgan Amateur English Pleasure division, gained the tricolor In the Pro-Am challenge. Oxsana’s half-brother Late Night Decision followed just on the mare’s heels to claim the reserve tricolor with Jordan Canby up. Both stars train with Eric Antman and the Stachowski California team.
