2025-2030 Strategic Plan Overview
About The Center for Arts in Natick (TCAN)
The Center for Arts in Natick (TCAN) is a nonprofit performing arts organization located in the heart of MetroWest Boston. Housed in a beautifully restored firehouse, TCAN presents a diverse array of live music, theater, film, and arts education programs that inspire, engage, and unite our community. With an annual audience of over 30,000 patrons and a reputation for intimate, high-quality experiences, TCAN has become a cultural anchor in downtown Natick and a vital regional hub for the arts.
About This Strategic Plan
In early 2024, TCAN embarked on a year-long strategic planning process to guide the organization through 2025 and beyond. With leadership from staff, board members, and strategic consultants, the process included community surveys, patron feedback, and stakeholder engagement to explore new opportunities and define long-term goals. The resulting plan outlines four strategic goals focused on programming, marketing, financial sustainability, and organizational capacity. Together, these goals reflect TCAN’s commitment to innovation, access, and artistic excellence and to serving the evolving needs of the community in the years ahead.

As we implement our strategic goals, these values serve as both a compass and a benchmark, ensuring our decisions stay true to TCAN’s purpose and vision.

This includes nationally renowned artists, regional talent, and deserving emerging voices whose work inspires, educates, and moves our audience. Our programming spans genres and disciplines, ensuring that TCAN remains a place of artistic discovery, innovation, and deep cultural engagement. We recognize that excellence is not confined to tradition or popularity it is also found in bold new ideas and compelling personal expression.
Artist Integrity
Our relationships with artists are built on mutual respect and professionalism. We strive to create an environment where performers are valued for their contributions, supported in their needs, and welcomed as collaborators. From contract terms to technical support to hospitality, we take pride in treating every artist whether headliner or newcomer with fairness, transparency, and care.
