DISH CLASHERS
Key Opportunities
Individual Project YEAR:2023.6 - 2023.10
An interactive AR solution presents a chance to recenter focus on social connections in the physical dining environment rather than isolated digital engagement. Bringing educational elements showing food origins and preparations can also help rebuild mindfulness and perspective. Developing an entertaining AR game that rewards collaboration and hints at recipes or ingredients through discovery of themed clues can promote interpersonal

conversations
The competitive yet cooperative elements and narrative components are designed intentionally to spark dialogue, curiosity, shared reflection on meal components which have been obscured in modern eateries.
? Problem Statement
Action
The widespread sharing of "Instagram-worthy" food photos on social media has shifted focus away from dining behaviors and culture at restaurant Capturing and posting appetizing meal pictures is replacing meaningful engagement with dining companions, making customers feel more disconnected and lonel Distorted and detached relationships with food are increasing, seen in behaviors like binge and emotional eatin Long wait times for food being served also compresses potential table conversation duration

Less engagement
Long waiting times
The optimal and indifference points were significantly shorter than the mean expected dining time, suggesting that many restaurants may be able to shorten dining duration significantly without compromising customer satisfaction. Challenge
Outcome
Difficulties faced in utilizing AR technology to transform complex food information into entertaining and educational personified characters.
An AR pre-meal game that personifies food ingredients as virtual characters to facilitate social interaction and educate diners, improving their relationship with food.
Relections Replacing photo sharing may be unrealistic since social media is so common. Better to have the game complement sharing The AR chef is creative. But an app alone likely won't fix food issues. Education and support are still needed Identifying social and health needs is good. Talking to users could reveal even more needs to address, like dining anxiety Rather than prescribing behavior, it’s better to give choices and information. Facilitate, don't mandate.
Meal Delivery Problem
There are two sources of uncertainty in the problem. First, the customers are unknown until they place an order. Second, the time at which the food is ready at the restaurant is unknown.
