100YEARSYOUNG

CELEBRATING BILL FEDDERSEN

William “Bill” Feddersen celebrated his 100th birthday on July 25th He and his wife, Betty Sue, have lived in Nassau Bay for 60 years Bill and Betty Sue both worked for NASA. He retired in 1988. Friends and neighbors helped him celebrate with a golf cart parade that included the city fire truck, police units, and an ambulance An enjoyable afternoon was experienced by all Congratulations, Bill!

The Nassau Bay Garden Club’s first meeting of the 2025-2026 season will be on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Mayor Phil Johnson will update the club on the latest developments in the City of Nassau Bay

As always, our meetings are open to the public. Please join us. The meeting will be held at Nassau Bay’s City Hall in the City Council Room The NBGC meets on the second Tuesday of the month from September-May. The meeting begins at 9:30 am with refreshments and some time to socialize, followed by the program and guest speaker at 10:00 am

Food Distribution for September, 2025

On Saturday, September 6, 2025, St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church (18300 Upper Bay Dr. in Nassau Bay), will host its monthly food distribution in partnership with the Galveston Food Bank This distribution is available to any individual or family, and there are no restrictions on where you live

In August 2025, we served over 600 people from 80+ cars in just 90 minutes We serve about 35+ lbs. of fresh fruit, vegetables, milk, and other items. With the cost of food in today’s economy, this service is even more important to people in the area The Galveston Food Bank will arrive in the St Thomas parking lot about 7:45 am, and distribution will begin about 8:00 am until about 9:30 am.

Community members are always encouraged and welcome to serve with St Thomas volunteers in this ministry For more information, please contact Fr Mike Stone at rector@sttaec.org. We can do more together!

ST.PAULEARLYCHILDHOODPROGRAM

If you are looking for a place where your child can grow and learn in a loving, faith-filled environment that offers a warm and secure space, with an excellent student to teacher ratio where your child will receive individual attention, we invite your family to join our ECP family! St Paul Early Childhood Program is happy to announce that we are offering after school soccer classes in the fall to children ages 3-5 who are registered in our program! Other after school classes will include an Art Class, a Music Class, a STEM Class, and “Books Alive ” We also incorporate several exciting learning opportunities into your child’s regular classroom schedule, including lessons in our STEM Center, Wiggle World, Library, and Chapel Parents are invited to join us for monthly events such as “Donuts with Dad” and “Parent/Child Craft Day.”

Registration for our fall session is still open, but we only have a few spots left in our two-year-old and Pre-K 3 classes, so don’t delay! Our one-year-old class and our Pre-K 4 classes are full, but a waitlist is available. Tours are scheduled by appointment.
