BEAUTIFICATION DAY
The Nassau Bay Garden Club will be hosting its annual Beautification Day on March 30, which will focus on the gardens and green spaces throughout the city. For the event, the Garden Club will partner with the Parks and Recreation Committee, the Public Works Department, and volunteers to work on the club's gardens and other designated areas throughout the city. The club's gardens include David Braun Park, Reflection, Swan Lagoon Park, Tranquility Arbor in Howard Ward Park, and the Circle Garden on Upper Bay Road. The event starts with registration at 8:30 a.m. at the David Braun Park Pavilion. Volunteers will receive their assignments, refreshments, and directions. Team leaders will get maps and pick up the plants and flowers at the public works after registration. Volunteers are advised to wear comfortable clothes and bring garden tools if available. The first 100 volunteers to work in the Nassau Bay Garden Club Gardens will receive T-shirts. If you're interested in volunteering, please call Clark at 281-507-3387.
FLOCK SAFETY The Nassau Bay Police Department has recently acquired and installed cameras from The Flock System. This license plate recognition system is capable of capturing license plate images and characters, as well as the color and make of a vehicle. The system has the ability to provide real-time alerts of wanted or flagged vehicles. The Flock System enhances the security capabilities of our department and community by providing an extra set of watchful eyes. The system captures and distributes objective evidence that can aid officers in their investigations. Furthermore, it enables community engagement and support through the Transparency Portal. It is important to note that The Flock System does not perform facial recognition and does not collect personally identifiable information (PII). The system is not used for traffic enforcement and does not capture persons or occupants of vehicles. More information is available via the Nassau Bay Flock Transparency Portal at https://transparency.flocksafety.com/nassau-bay-tx-pd-
