FOURTH OF JULY PARADE AND FIREWORKS The Nassau Bay Special Events Committee (SEC) is in the planning process for this year’s Fourth of July Celebration, to be held on Thursday, July 4. The entire community is encouraged to take part! The day will begin with Citywide "Water Wars” from 12PM- 2PM. Participants may pick up a bandana at 18227 Hereford Lane on July 3rd or 4th to play. Remember – no water balloons allowed. From 5PM to 9PM, the SEC will host a Fourth of July Celebration in David Braun Park with food and live music. The Pie Contest will begin at 6:30PM, with prize categories for Best Presentation, Best Taste, and Grand Champion. At 6PM, join the community for a special parade to honor and celebrate our Veterans. Parade line-up will begin at 5PM at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. The float judging categories this year will includeLil’ Firecracker; Wagons& Wheels; Red, White and Blue; Most Patriotic; and Grand Champion. Finally,the fireworks display sponsored by the City of Nassau Bay will begin at 9PM. The fireworks will be launched from the Nassau Bay Peninsula, so make sure to claim your spot to watch the show! Do you know a veteran in Nassau Bay? Let us honor them this July 4th with special signage! CITY OFFICERS’ ELECTION RESULTS Congratulations to Haley Uhl on becoming the newly elected Council Position 4. A total of 620 voters turned out for this May local municipal election. The City of Nassau Bay is at its strongest when our community is informed and engaged – we are stronger when we all vote! The City also congratulates Phil Johnson (Mayor), Lucie Johannes Sommer (Council Position 2), and Ashleigh Klug (Council Position 6) in the May election. The City looks forward to working with each and every council member. City Council held a Special City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, to canvass the results of the May 4th General Officers’ Election. The canvass is an official certification of the May election results. Please visit the City’s website at www.nassaubay.com/608/voter-information to view the official tabulation. Each of these individuals will join the June City Council meeting as official members. There will be a formal recognition of exiting Councilmember James Abbey at the

June meeting. Thank you for your two years of service, Councilmember Abbey! To all of the candidates, the City of Nassau Bay would like to thank you for investing your time and efforts in this democratic process. We thank you for your dedication to wanting to make Nassau Bay the best city to live, work and play!
