NOTE FROM THE MAYOR HURRICANE BERYL RECOVERY Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Citizens of Nassau Bay, As Mayor, I want to assure you that our City Government has been serving the citizens before, during and in the Recovery of Hurricane Beryl. During the event, our staff pushed out vital information via our telephone RAVE system, Facebook, and the City of Nassau Bay website. The First Responders Ride Out Team courageously remained vigilant monitoring the storm, and upon landfall they began initiating recovery efforts. As we moved into the Recovery Mode, Public Works began emergency operations for public health to ensure potable drinking water, sanitary sewer services, storm water drainage, and other infrastructure repairs were made. The Police Department continued patrols of the streets safeguarding our families, property, and homes. The Fire Department was vital in assessing damage and continued full Emergency Management Operations, while ensuring fire safety. Disaster and Recovery Teams have been deployed and are picking up debris around the city working closely with the city’s Administrative Disaster Team. The cleanup is expected to last 3-4 weeks. This will include David Braun Park that was impacted. Please continue to check the city’s website and social media outlets for pertinent city information. Please call City Hall at 281-333-4211 for any further assistance. Please stay safe and remember we are in this together as a community and have all been impacted. I am looking forward to seeing everybody soon.
Public Works Due to the effects of Hurricane Beryl, Public Works crews were not able to perform the regular water meter readings for July. As a result, the utility bills dated August 1, 2024, were calculated using estimated volumes based on past consumption. Utility bills dated September 1, 2024, will be based on actual metered volumes.
