NOTE FROM THE MAYOR Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Citizens, I’m excited to share some wonderful news about two new dining destinations coming soon to Nassau Bay, each bringing its own unique flavor and energy to our community. Many of you may have already heard that the former Luby’s Cafeteria on NASA Parkway is being transformed into Schafer’s Coastal Kitchen. Set to open in Fall 2026, this new restaurant will celebrate the best of Gulf Coast cuisine, featuring fresh seafood favorites, craft cocktails, and a thoughtfully curated wine selection. With full-service dining, a 40-seat oval bar, and private spaces for gatherings and events, Schafer’s is designed to be a place where neighbors come together to enjoy great food and even better company.
We are also thrilled to welcome Estella’s, a vibrant new Tex-Mex concept expected to open in Summer 2026 in the retail building at 1740 NASA Parkway. This impressive space will feature approximately 7,000 square feet on the ground floor, along with a 1,600-square-foot rooftop patio offering stunning views of the Space Center area and our beautiful waterfront. Estella’s promises to bring bold flavors, a lively atmosphere, and a new gathering place for residents and visitors alike.

FOR FLOODING INCIDENTS
All properties in Nassau Bay are subject to flooding due to heavy rains and storm surge from tropical events. Follow the tips below to protect yourself and your property. · Protect your home’s foundation by making sure your downspouts drain away from your house. · Buy flood insurance. Don’t delay - there is a 30-day waiting period before a policy takes effect. · Berms and other barriers that divert water onto other properties are prohibited. Play it safe, and don’t move dirt or sand without a permit. · Report broken silt fences at construction sites. The sediment from these developments can clog our waterways and lead to flooded homes. · Make an emergency supply kit for your home. Register with the City’s Emergency Alert System and follow the City of Nassau Bay on Facebook to see all watches, warnings, and other weather-related information issued by the National Weather Service. · If you encounter a flooded roadway that is blocked off with barricades, remember – Turn Around, Don’t Drown. ® Visit www.nassaubay.com for more information on flood preparedness
