NASSAU BAY HONORS VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT MEMBERS The Nassau Bay Volunteer Fire Department celebrated their accomplishments at their annual banquet held at the Tom George Nassau Bay Fire and EMS Station on February 24, 2024.
During the evening, NBVFD President Matt Roper and Fire Chief Tom George presented the following NBVFD members with special recognition for their 2023 accomplishments: Fire Fighter of the Year – Colby Dickerson Top Responders for 2023: Rookie Fire Fighter of the Year – Brett Vidrine #1 – Javon Thomas Medic of the Year – Greg Forrest #2 – Steviray Edmonds Administrative Officer of the Year – Rod Molyneau #3 – Colby Dickerson Line Officer of the Year – Glenn Blome Chief’s Coin Award for Special Service – Matt Roper The Ed Newton Scholarship Award was presented to 2024 recipient: Paul Valencia As a NBVFD tradition, adding some humor and entertainment to the evening Truck Captain Glenn Blome recognized several members for “special” contributions to NBVFD operations. Members receiving these unique awards were: Nick Holaday and Colby Dickerson. In addition to recognizing Founding and current active NBVFD member Michie Coldwell and retired member Cheryl McGee, special awards were also presented to currently active members in honor of their length of service: One Year – Jack Juillerat, Nick Holaday, Paul Valencia, Ryan Hall Five years – Joe Trainor Ten Years – Luis Marquina Fifteen years – Robert “Gabby” Chapman Thirty-five years – Tom George Forty Years – Jim McGee
