Resumen Se presenta la figura del intelectual costarricense Luis Dobles Segreda de quien se destacan su aporte a la educación, al estudio geográfico y a la literatura costarricenses. Se presenta también al hombre que mira a la vida como tal y por medio de los personajes que crea en sus obras. Un personaje costarricense a quien el autor del artículo presenta, en conclusión, como regionalista, tradicional, conservador y nacionalista por antonomasia.

A Great Dream that Belongs to the Past Mario Ramírez Espinosa This article analyzes the great impact of the well-known Costa Rican Luis Dobles Segreda on education, geographical studies and Costa Rican literature. He portrays his own vision of life through the characters created in his books. In this work Luis Dobles Segreda is described as a regionalist, nationalist as well as traditional conservative leader.
