Acting on the Erongo Regional Directorate of Education, Arts and Culture's recommendations brought on by urbanisation, the Swakopmund Municipality boasts the construction of two new schools, funded by the ministry through the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Education at the Erongo Regional Council. The expected date of completion of the construction of both the Matutura Primary School and the Tamariskia Extension 1 Secondary School is around 31 December 2022, just in time for the first scheduled intake of students for the new year in January of 2023.

A dream come true As schools open their doors for the start of the new educational year in January 2023, the management, staff, parents, and learners of The Dolphin Schools at Walvis Bay will be welcomed under the school's new identity, the Walvis Bay Gymnasium. This is after Colette Rieckert, the Managing Director of Windhoek Gymnasium said on Wednesday, 26 October at a public meeting in the town,that CurroNamibia has selected The Dolphin Schools to become Walvis Bay Gymnasium. Rieckert said, “The idea was always to start a new school, Walvis Bay Gymnasium in the area with the same principles and policies that Windhoek Gymnasium follows. We saw that this is the type of education what parents in Namibia desire for their children.” Rieckert stated there was an outcry from the coastal community to bring the same type of education that is taught at Windhoek Gymnasium to the coast. “The reason why The Dolphin School was selected, is because the quality of education taught at the school is highly respected all over, and by the ministry of education.
