Prosecutor, Victoria Ndapunikwa Shikesho said Silheu is charged with culpable homicide. “It is alleged that he drove negligently”, and sought remand to 30 March for investigations, and bail in the amount of N$ 5 000 is recommended to which legal practitioner, Jo-Marie Koekemoer had no objection and confirmed the submissions. The court granted the bail application. The matter was postponed to 30 March 2023. This after Silheu allegedly side-swiped a Toyota Corolla resulting in the death of the driver of the Corolla last weekend. According to the Spokesperson of the Erongo police, Inspector Ileni Shapumba, 39-year-old Johannes Olavo was traveling next to the driver of the Ford Ranger [in the same direction] on the dual carriageway when the driver of the Ford Ranger allegedly side-swiped the Corolla in an attempt to drive the vehicle off the road. Inspector Shapumba said, “the driver of the Toyota Corolla swerved off the road to avoid a collision, and he lost control of his vehicle and hit it against a palm tree next to the road. He was declared dead at the scene while the driver of the Ford Ranger drove away.” The passenger of the Toyota Corolla was transported to the Walvis Bay state hospital for treatment. The passenger sustained head injuries but is in a stable condition.

Farm 37 – Latest developEliphas Sheepo ment Doubts about the feasibility of Farm 37 surfaced in a motion brought forth by Councilor Ryan Gordon at the latest Ordinary Council Meeting. Walvis Bay Mayor, Trevino Forbes, in the council meeting held on 28 September 2022, committed to residents of the town that within six months there will be a movement towards Farm 37, to which Ryan Gordon pointed out, “progress on the project for the years 2012 and 2022 has yet to commence on account of availability of funds or resources by the council to date.” Gordon wanted it to be made clear that he was never against the development of Farm 37 but rather how certain important things were addressed for e.g., communal toilets. “It would be totally undignified for our people's safety and privacy needs and totally does not fit the
