Rössing Uranium Limited has since March this year offered a very lucrative separation package with a threeand-a-half-year time frame for employees to find alternative jobs until the end of 2026. The year 2026 is when Rössing Uranium's current mining operations come to an end, and the Chinese Mining Contractor, Beifang with whom Rössing signed a 13-year contract worth N$12.8 billion, will assume operations in extracting uranium from the longest-running open-pit mine in the world. This comes with a downfall as the company is set to let go of all mining personnel. As a result, Rössing Uranium Limited has introduced a comprehensive workforce transition plan, offering attractive separation packages and employment support to its around 400 mining personnel.
