Horror in Usakos Six Family Members Brutally Killed in Domestic Attack A tragic and gruesome act of violence has left the town of Usakos in mourning after six members of the !Naruses family, including four children, were brutally killed in their home in the Hakhaseb location in the early hours of Saturday, 5 April . According to Chief Inspector Ileni Shapumba of the Erongo police, the incident occurred between 4:00 and 6:30. A male suspect, aged 17 and believed to be a relative of the victims, allegedly attacked them with an iron axe and a knobkierie before setting their bodies alight. The victims suffered fatal blunt force trauma and sustained first to second-degree burns. The deceased have been identified as Elisabeth Naruses (90), pensioner; Fenny Naruses (18), Grade 11 learner; Ibra Naruses (6); Raunisha Boer (6); Rachel Boer (3); Emi Naruses (3). The suspect sustained injuries to both feet and was taken to the Usakos State Hospital. The alleged murder weapon, an axe, was recovered at the
scene. A case of murder and defeating the course of justice has been opened under CR 07/04/2025. The suspect was remanded in custody without bail and will reappear in court on 28 May 2025 as investigations continue. National Leaders Pay Tribute Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare, accompanied by senior officials including Works and Transport Minister, Veikko Nenkundi, Erongo Governor Neville Andre, and Police Inspector General Joseph Shikongo, visited the grieving family on Sunday. Namibia's new visa-on-arrival system, officially launched on 1 April, has already shown significant traction, generating N$25.4 million in revenue since its soft introduction on 3 March, according to Etienne Maritz, Executive Director of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security. Of the total revenue, N$24.3 million came from 15 506 travellers who applied through the online e-visa portal, while 820 travellers received their

Amid growing concerns over littering and illegal dumping, the Municipality of Walvis Bay has officially relaunched its Team-Up 2 Clean-Up campaign, a community-driven initiative aimed at restoring cleanliness across the town and fostering civic pride.
