Defect Liability Period & Home Care Essentials Defect Liability Period Nakheel provides support for in-unit requests under warranty during the one-year defect liability period, commencing from the handover date specified in the handover notice. During this period, in order to register a service request, please visit our Nakheel App.

Once your request is logged, our team will review it, and you will receive a call or confirmation email with the details of your service appointment.
What is covered? •

Defects in material or workmanship of finishing work (other than those caused by normal wear and tear) including caulking of windows and doors to prevent water ingress from outside. However, it is recommended that you do not cover your painted walls with vinyl coverings until the end of DLP as it may hide potential shrinkage cracks on the plastered walls and eventually, it cannot be rectified. Material and workmanship defects in: D Plumbing work resulting in water leakage and overflowing D Electrical work resulting in short circuiting, electrical breakdown and malfunctioning of switches/sockets D HVAC systems (heating, ventilation and air conditioning work resulting in cooling issues, condensation and abnormal noise or bad smell coming from the A/C. D External cladding work like deterioration or detachment of cladding. D Drainage blockage at the beginning of the occupancy due to concrete. Blockages after many months due to usage of excessive tissue is not considered DLP. D Hollow tiles, and wrong tile slopes. D All defects resulted from leaks and not attended by the DLP Team in timely manner. If the customer was late in reporting the leak, he bears the subsequent damages.

Manufacturing defects and defective installations, which are workmanship related including mechanical and electrical works, sanitary, sewage, woodworks, glass works, marble and tiles, and similar installations
In order to assist you during the defect liability period, we may need the following access: •
Townhouses & Villas: Access should be granted by the occupier or homeowner via the cat ladder for roof access if it is located inside the property or through the roof access located inside your unit.

Apartments: Access to the common shaft located within your unit must be granted by the occupier or homeowner to facilitate maintenance, regardless of whether the issue has been reported from your unit or a neighbouring one.
