FALCON CITY

Winter 2025

FROM THE COMMUNITY DESK

As we welcome the start of a brand-new year, I’m delighted to take this opportunity to reflect on the many positive developments that took place across Falcon City over the past year. The last few months were filled with meaningful upgrades, festive celebrations and initiatives that brought our residents closer together. From landscape beautification works to engaging events that added warmth to the season, every improvement was made with the goal of creating a more comfortable, connected and enjoyable living environment for everyone. It’s been truly rewarding to see residents come together to enjoy these new spaces and experiences and to witness the shared sense of pride in our growing community. Your feedback and involvement play a vital role in shaping the spaces we share and I look forward to another year of collaboration, progress and community spirit. Here’s to a wonderful year ahead filled with new milestones and meaningful connections.

ECO WINS Shore to Soil In a major sustainability milestone, we have launched an algae-to-compost initiative in partnership with ReFarm, a pioneer in regenerative agriculture. The programme transforms naturally collected algae (seasonal algae from the beach waters of Palm Jumeirah) mixed with food waste into nutrient-rich organic fertiliser through an eco-friendly, larvae-based decomposition process. The first successful batch has been produced and will be used in landscaping projects across Palm Jumeirah and other communities. This initiative exemplifies circular economy in action, turning natural surplus into resources that enrich the environment and strengthen community sustainability.

The Great Green Declutter

There’s no better time to reset your space and your impact. 2026 is your year to turn your annual home declutter into a meaningful sustainability ritual; the whole family can join in and here’s how.

Sort and donate

Recycle Right

The UAE discards over 210,000 tonnes of clothing yearly. Create three pilesKeep, Recycle, Donate. Reusing just 1 kg of clothing saves 25 kg of CO₂ and thousands of litres of water.

Almost 90% of textiles still end up in landfills. Drop off clothes, books and gadgets at local recycling points and avoid mixing materials to keep recycling effective.

Ditch the Disposables The UAE will start phasing out single-use plastics (SUPs) as part of a major move towards cleaner communities and reduced landfill waste. Here’s what you can switch to within your reach.

CUPS AND LIDS

CUTLERY

FOOD CONTAINERS

PLATES

Most takeaway cups can’t be recycled due to plastic lining. Switching to stainless-steel cups keeps hundreds of disposables out of landfills every year.

Plastic cutlery can take up to 200 years to decompose. A reusable set used even 20 times offsets its footprint.

With over 6 billion foodpackaging units used in 2024 and only 5% to 7% recycled, stainless-steel or glass containers are a durable, microplasticfree alternative.

Food-service plastics make up nearly 40% of global plastic waste. For parties or private events at home, choose biodegradable bagasse plates, they break down far faster than plastic.

RIPPLE EFFECT In every community, there are individuals whose kindness leaves a lasting mark. Meet Judy, a resident from Jumeirah Park whose thoughtful initiative is bringing joy to those who need it most. Over the years, she noticed how celebrations often leave behind items that go unused. From decorations and party favours to unopened gifts and supplies, these tokens of joy often end up stored away or discarded. That’s when she decided to turn these moments of excess into moments of generosity. Through her simple yet impactful idea, Judy began collecting these celebratory items from neighbours and friends, carefully repurposing them for underprivileged families. A set of balloons that put a smile on children’s faces at a shelter or leftover party decor that brightens up community spaces, small gifts like these become treasures for those who seldom receive them. Her work is not just about giving, it’s about inclusion. By sharing the spirit of celebrations, she ensures that joy is not limited to a few.

FROM THE REGULATOR’S DESK Managing Violations on Mollak Under RERA’s Circular 11 of 2023, community management companies can issue violations through the Mollak system based on RERA’s approved rules. When a violation is issued, homeowners will be notified by email and through the Dubai REST app. Once notified, owners can log in to the app and choose one of the following actions:

REQUEST WAIVER (asking for the fine to be waived)

SUBMIT A GRIEVANCE (if you believe the violation is incorrect)

PAY THE FINE

Always remember: If no action is taken within three days, the violation will be escalated and a fine will be automatically applied. We encourage residents to keep an eye on their notifications and respond quickly to avoid penalties. For support or clarification, the community management office is always here to help.
