Waste to Worth: Powering a circular future

Step Into the Spotlight: We’re looking for you

Illustrated by Samah Mohamed Elbarsiky, JBR for the Your UAE,Your Community, Your Canvas campaign

From the Community Desk

The past few months have brought its share of change, both within our community and beyond it. Through it all, what has kept our work meaningful is the steady spirit of the people who live here, the familiar faces and the small daily exchanges that quietly hold our neighbourhood together. That sense of belonging is what gives this place its character and it is what we work to protect every day.

The Flame Tree season, which has just passed, offered its own quiet tribute to that idea. Those brief flashes of orange hold a particular place in the UAE's annual rhythm, marking a turn in the season with grace and a welcome pause before the warmer months take hold.

As the UAE marks the Year of Family, our focus has remained firmly on the home you have built here. From thoughtful upgrades across the community to the quieter, behind-the-scenes work that keeps things running well, our efforts continue to centre around you. A closer look at these improvements follows in the pages ahead and as your Community Management team, we remain close at hand for anything you may need along the way.

As summer settles in, we hope it brings rest, warmth and time with the people who matter most. Looking after our surroundings is a shared effort and together we can ensure this community continues to feel like a place we are proud to call home.

NEIGHBOURHOOD NOTES

With consistent care, innovative solutions and a residentsfirst approach, your community continues to grow stronger. Here’s a look at the changes and improvements in your neighbourhood during these past three months.

Welcoming Palm Appeal

Coming home now feels even more special.

The roundabout at the entrance to MBR District One has been thoughtfully enhanced to create a warmer, more welcoming first impression for you and your guests.

With the addition of elegant date palms and vibrant flowering hibiscus trees now surrounding the roundabout, the driveway feels greener and full of life. It’s a subtle upgrade that makes a big difference, bringing beauty, calm and a sense of pride to your everyday arrival.

Protection That Blends Right In

In our latest upgrades, approximately 1.13 km of handrails have been installed across all deep, non-swimming zones at MBR District One to improve accessibility and offer extra support where it’s needed most, especially for children, seniors and anyone who could use a steady hand, all while blending seamlessly into the community’s waterfront setting.

Building on the safety measures already in place, “No Diving” signs will soon be added across approximately 8 km of lagoon handrail areas, bringing an extra layer of awareness to restricted zones and supporting the safe use of these spaces.

Safety, Reinforced

There’s added peace of mind across the community’s sports spaces, with a total of nine cameras now in place at the tennis courts, football field, padel courts and pet park. The upgrade helps keep these busy areas clearly monitored and supports a safer, better-managed experience for everyone using them.

To further enhance the safety and security of your community, the gatehouse CCTV system will soon be upgraded to strengthen security monitoring, supports a quicker response when needed and help create a safer environment for all residents.

Let the Games Begin

The community’s two tennis courts are serving up a fresh new look, now resurfaced with a new multi-colour acrylic finish in line with international standards. The upgrade brings a sharper finish, better grip, more consistent bounce and a smoother game all around, making every match feel better from ground up.

Now complete, the volleyball court has received its own refresh. With new wooden benches in place and enhanced soft sand underfoot, the space feels more comfortable along the edges and noticeably better to play on at its centre.

Meet the Buzz Blocker

Mosquito control is getting a smart upgrade too, with advanced bio-agent mosquito traps introduced on a trial basis, delivering strong results in monitoring and controlling mosquito activity across the community.

Following this success, the solution will continue to be adopted as part of ongoing preventive measures to help maintain a comfortable outdoor environment for residents.

SUMMER SAFETY TIPS FOR YOUR PAW-PAL

Simple steps help your little sidekick stay safe in the heat and shared spaces stay clean for all.

COMMUNITY CARE BEYOND PETS

Leftover food and droppings affect cleanliness of shared areas.

Feeding strays can lead to clustering and territorial behaviour.

WASTE REIMAGINED: TWO PARTNERSHIPS, ONE CIRCULAR GOAL

Dubai Holding Community Management is advancing circular economy practices through two sustainability initiatives that convert waste into usable environmental value.

With ReFarm Global Investments, DHCM launched Dubai’s first 'Sea-to-Soil' initiative within community management. Signed by Francis Giani, CEO of DHCM, and Oliver Christof, CEO of ReFarm Global Investments, the MoU supports solutions that transform algae and organic waste into regenerative inputs. Pilot trials in Palm Jumeirah converted 120 kg of algae waste into 31 kg of nutrient rich Re-Soil compost, now used for landscaping and soil enhancement.

In partnership with Hyvgeo, DHCM has also initiated a green waste upcycling pilot, collecting landscape waste monthly and converting it into biochar to improve soil condition and water retention, supporting more efficient irrigation and an estimated water reduction of up to 30%.

14 TONNES: FROM WASTE TO CUTLERY

In 2025, 14 tonnes of green waste from our managed communities were diverted from landfill through a local circular partnership with Palmade. Landscaping byproducts, primarily date palm leaves, were transformed into biodegradable cutlery, now used across select Jumeirah brands, supporting responsible sourcing and reducing single-use plastics.

GCIA 2025 TOP HONOURS FOR HAPPINESS & ENGAGEMENT SERVICES

Dubai Holding Community Management has been honoured with the Happiness & Engagement Services Award at the Global Continual Improvement Award (GCIA) 2025, presented by the Dubai Quality Group.

The award recognises The Experience Hub, an innovative platform that uses resident insights and AI-powered analytics to help enhance service delivery and community experiences.

This achievement reflects our commitment to listening to our residents, continuously improving our services and creating seamless, responsive experiences across our communities.

We thank our residents for their trust and valuable feedback, which continue to shape and inspire everything we do.

FIRST STAFF WELFARE FACILITY LAUNCHED UNDER PROJECT RAHA

Dubai Holding Community Management (DHCM) has launched its first dedicated staff welfare and rest area in Jumeirah Village Triangle under Project Raha, named after the Arabic word for comfort and wellbeing.

The facility has been created for frontline teams working across facilities management, housekeeping, landscaping and security, providing a clean and air-conditioned space where they can rest and recharge during their shifts, especially in the summer months.

This initiative reflects DHCM’s ongoing commitment to caring for the people who support the daily upkeep of our communities and ensure they remain safe, clean and well-maintained for all residents.

As the first of its kind, Project Raha also sets the foundation for similar facilities across other communities in the future, further strengthening the overall community experience.
