Your Summer Guide for your home, pets & peace of mind

Waste to Worth: Powering a circular future

Step Into the Spotlight: We’re looking for you

Illustrated by Samah Mohamed Elbarsiky, JBR for the Your UAE,Your Community, Your Canvas campaign

From the Community Desk

The past few months have brought its share of change, both within our community and beyond it. Through it all, what has kept our work meaningful is the steady spirit of the people who live here, the familiar faces and the small daily exchanges that quietly hold our neighbourhood together. That sense of belonging is what gives this place its character and it is what we work to protect every day.

The Flame Tree season, which has just passed, offered its own quiet tribute to that idea. Those brief flashes of orange hold a particular place in the UAE's annual rhythm, marking a turn in the season with grace and a welcome pause before the warmer months take hold.

As the UAE marks the Year of Family, our focus has remained firmly on the home you have built here. From thoughtful upgrades across the community to the quieter, behind-the-scenes work that keeps things running well, our efforts continue to centre around you. A closer look at these improvements follows in the pages ahead and as your Community Management team, we remain close at hand for anything you may need along the way.

As summer settles in, we hope it brings rest, warmth and time with the people who matter most. Looking after our surroundings is a shared effort and together we can ensure this community continues to feel like a place we are proud to call home.

NEIGHBOURHOOD NOTES

With consistent care, innovative solutions and a residentsfirst approach, your community continues to grow stronger. Here’s a look at the changes and improvements in your neighbourhood during these past three months.

Fresh Blooms, Fresh Views

Discovery Gardens’ green spaces just got a vibrant refresh!

15,050 shrubs including bougainvillea, wild jasmine and yellow bells, 12,670 ground cover plants of sea purslane and elephant bush and 362 sqm of refurbished gravel now in place across the community, bringing colour, charm and a burst of new life to our neighbourhood.

Supporting it all behind the scenes is a smart system at work. With 62 new smart irrigation control points now in place across the community helping reduce water waste, improve monitoring and keep the system running more reliably, even during maintenance or supply interruptions.

Blending innovation with sustainability, these upgrades mark an important step towards a community that is greener, smarter and designed to thrive well into the future.

Spot the New Signs Around You

New signage has now been installed across all the buildings, helping improve wayfinding, enhance identification and make navigation simpler for both residents and visitors.

This enhancement supports a more organised, consistent look across the community, supporting a smoother, better-managed daily experience throughout the community.

Sealed for Strength

Discovery Gardens is now better sealed from the top down.

Roof waterproofing has been fully upgraded across all the buildings, with the previous system replaced by a new waterproofing solution. This strengthens water protection, helps minimise the risk of seepage and supports long-term building durability.

With improved resilience to environmental exposure, this milestone also reinforces long-term durability and the high maintenance standards maintained across the community.

Smiles for Safe Miles

Four new solar-powered speed emoji radars were installed in high-traffic areas and vantage points of the community, to not only monitor vehicle speeds but also provide instant, friendly feedback to drivers using expressive emoji faces.

This interactive approach helps promote responsible driving, encourages a more mindful driving culture and makes the roads safer for everyone.

WASTE REIMAGINED: TWO PARTNERSHIPS, ONE CIRCULAR GOAL

Dubai Holding Community Management is advancing circular economy practices through two sustainability initiatives that convert waste into usable environmental value.

With ReFarm Global Investments, DHCM launched Dubai’s first 'Sea-to-Soil' initiative within community management. Signed by Francis Giani, CEO of DHCM, and Oliver Christof, CEO of ReFarm Global Investments, the MoU supports solutions that transform algae and organic waste into regenerative inputs. Pilot trials in Palm Jumeirah converted 120 kg of algae waste into 31 kg of nutrient rich Re-Soil compost, now used for landscaping and soil enhancement.

In partnership with Hyvgeo, DHCM has also initiated a green waste upcycling pilot, collecting landscape waste monthly and converting it into biochar to improve soil condition and water retention, supporting more efficient irrigation and an estimated water reduction of up to 30%.

14 TONNES: FROM WASTE TO CUTLERY

In 2025, 14 tonnes of green waste from our managed communities were diverted from landfill through a local circular partnership with Palmade. Landscaping byproducts, primarily date palm leaves, were transformed into biodegradable cutlery, now used across select Jumeirah brands, supporting responsible sourcing and reducing single-use plastics.

FIRST STAFF WELFARE FACILITY LAUNCHED UNDER PROJECT RAHA

Dubai Holding Community Management (DHCM) has launched its first dedicated staff welfare and rest area in Jumeirah Village Triangle under Project Raha, named after the Arabic word for comfort and wellbeing.

The facility has been created for frontline teams working across facilities management, housekeeping, landscaping and security, providing a clean and air-conditioned space where they can rest and recharge during their shifts, especially in the summer months.

This initiative reflects DHCM’s ongoing commitment to caring for the people who support the daily upkeep of our communities and ensure they remain safe, clean and well-maintained for all residents.

As the first of its kind, Project Raha also sets the foundation for similar facilities across other communities in the future, further strengthening the overall community experience.
