New Restaurant Opened: Amore Italian Amore

owned by Visi and Makayla Milushi, successfully passed its final inspection and opened on November 14th at Clear Lakes Shopping Center. Taking over the former
location
of
Neighbors,
the
restaurant offers a menu of Italian dishes, including pasta classics, entrees like veal piccata and chicken Alfredo, seafood options, appetizers, salads, and freshbaked bread. Operating as a full-service sit-down restaurant, Amore plans to introduce pizza to the menu. The dining room features a familiar setting with new decor, and the owners aim to provide a relaxed dining experience in the bustling city.
Sedgwick County Commissioners vote on new HQ location Sedgwick County Commissioners voted 4-1 to terminate the agreement to purchase Murfin Plaza as the potential new headquarters. Concerns were raised about the building's age (built in 1983), with renovations deemed significant. Options now include ground-up builds at 3rd and Main, a long-term lease at the Ruffin Building, or a new 62,000 squarefoot build near the Epic Center. Commissioner Jim Howell, the lone dissenter, favored Murfin Plaza, citing it as cost-effective. The county currently leases space at the Ruffin Building through June 2025. A final decision is pending, with Murfin Plaza costing an estimated $33 million.

TapNPaddles – A new pickleball venue
After years of remodeling, Tony Abdayem has completed the transformation of a Delano property in Wichita, purchased in 2018, two doors down from his La Galette French Cafe & Bakery. The renovated building at Douglas and Seneca now boasts
TapNPaddles, a 35,000-square-foot pickleball venue, is set to open in mid-2024 in District 96, Wichita. Owned by Kelli and Mike Ventling, the facility will feature 12 professional-level indoor pickleball courts, a full-service bar and restaurant, a pro shop, an outdoor patio, locker rooms, and a private event space. TapNPaddles aims to provide a premium playing experience and plans to follow USA Pickleball standards for courts. The Ventlings, inspired by their own love for pickleball, want to create a casual, welcoming environment to grow the sport and offer access to all, with memberships available for extra perks.

Photographers Andrew and Mario Montano are opening Signature Studios in Wichita, providing a shared indoor photography space in Tony Abdayem's renovated 1910 building at Douglas and Seneca. The 3,100-square-foot ground floor space will offer lighting, backdrops, and a boudoir room for photographers and others to use. Available for lease at $50 per hour from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, memberships with no hourly limit will be priced at $300 per month. The first 200 sign-ups receive a discounted rate of $200 per month for 12 months. The studio opens in early December, with bookings starting on December 3.
