Background
User Surveys & Interviews
In Jabodetabek, there are several type of public transport, such as KRL, MRT, Transjakarta, and LRT. Based on data, almost 40% of passengers use single trips, 35% use multitrip, and the last 25% use a smartcard (e-money, flazz, etc) or apps.
After reaching out to more users through multiple questions, I compiled the results of a user survey (22 participants). As a result, I reached more users and gained some initial and follow-up insight.

Understand The Goal
Define The Audience
Nowadays, Korean dramas have become even more popular as more audiences outside Asia are caught in the now-global Korean wave through streaming services. In 2020 Indonesia ranked first among its markets when it came to tweeting about K-dramas on Twitter, indicating a large presence of K-culture fans in the country and the high engagement.
People who stream Korean content are most probably: Have an interest in Korean culture

Drakor ID, is a mobile video streaming service that allows Indonesian
k-drama fans to watch Korean drama with Indonesian subtitles which has a huge potential market. By improving the experience streams content, Drakor ID would increase the number of users, and as a result, their retention and revenue. Drakor ID already has a product for streaming content, but I’m not sure people would stream content a lot. Hence, I’m going to improve it.

IDEAs
List Ideas Interface redesign
Building a clearer and more efficient interface, so we can reduce usage error, annoying ads, and the time spent by customers
2. Autoplay video
Automatically play the video when it is in the focus area of the screen (mid of the screen) a bit longer than usual (people always give a movement by scrolling through the page).
3. Personalized content for different users
Giving the movies or dramas recommendations based on what users love. Helping them to discover which content they will enjoy because each person has a different view of the content.
. uggestions and search features
4 S
The suggestion feature would present the same “categories” content after selecting movies/dramas that users want to watch. It gives plenty of catalogs for suggestions. On top of that, search features would show popular searches that other users perform to help you make a choice.
dianadia.super.site | Product Design Portfolio
Prioritize and Choose an Idea I’ll place the ideas on an Impact/Effort matrix to assess their feasibility. The interface redesign (#1) is the quickest improvement we could ship. Solutions #2, #3, and #4 have a similar approach because they reduce the user's effort.
Despite making users' lives easier, Autoplay video #2 might be annoyed if the content isn't relevant to the user. I’m not sure about the technical things of idea #3, which might require a lot of effort to implement, so I’d probably avoid using this idea. I believe that #4 has the biggest impact since it has several advantages. It helps users to make choices by giving several suggestions, minimizes time to search content, and makes categories for the different genres.
Solution
User Tasks
Home Screen
Firstly, the solution we have is about suggesting a way to enhance the existing Drakor ID mobile experience. I will make the assumption that recently customers enjoy romance dramas. This process could be optimized by grouping users based on their interests.
Our customer who is the first time using this app would feel unclear about the initial process. That’s why the screen after logging in should include some interesting parts to encourage people to watch such as promotions. At this point, the existing home screen merely displays all contents without ads/promotions. Although, after clicking on the content that we would like to watch, we can see ads, and they are placed so haphazardly on the screen.
I’ll map user tasks that explain the steps users should take to use our app successfully:
So I take away the ads from the content page to the home screen and arrange them in one place. The home screen looks good if we can make it less overwhelming, so I divide it into 2 parts: Ads / Promotion
promotion: gives the newest content information
ads: area that can help generate more revenue
Content
streaming content that can be watched by customers
dianadia.super.site | Product Design Portfolio
Final result
Navigation The essential part of finding the right content to watch is searching and scrolling on a home screen. By searching, users know what they want to watch and in this situation, we can help them choose by giving them some popular searches based on other users' performance. And then, to make it more scannable on a home screen when scrolling I think it would be good to filter the content.
dianadia.super.site | Product Design Portfolio
Suggestions Identifying which content users enjoy is one of my objectives, so I want people to spend less time finding something to watch, and more time watching what they truly enjoy. Since this app has lots of content, it would make choosing from them easier if the contents were divided according to type, such as comedy, romance, horror, fiction, etc.
