SHENLONG (2022)
59.4 x 84.1 cm
Pencil I was inspired by Chen Rong and his “Nine dragons” painting. Upon further research, I learnt about one of the dragons being “Shenlong”, who is the “bringer of rain and storms”. I chose this dragon because of its relevance to climate change, to confront audiences about dismissive and harmful behaviour towards the environment. If Shenlong were to exist, would we have treated the environment any different?

DRAWING COMMISSIONS (2022
- 2023)

59.4 x 84.1 cm
A prevalent and legendary motif in southeast asian cultures, snaking around temple pillars, their golden crowns protruding towards the sky. Whilst being represented varyingly in different places, the country of Laos claims it as a “serpent god” of great power.
