Week of italian gastronomy The Italian Food Festival Group is pleased to present its 2016 event. The project is part of a broader initiative promoted by the Italian Government worldwide - the “Week of Italian Gastronomy –Settimana della Cucina Italiana nel mondo”- and is set out along the footsteps of the past successful initiatives held, since 2001, by Italian restaurants and food companies in Hanoi to promote the authentic Italian cuisine, products and culture and to increase awareness over quality and safety. THE BROADER FRAMEWORK: THE WEEK OF THE ITALIAN GASTRONOMY The year 2016 marks the kick-off of an initiative promoted by the Italian government with the involvement of the major institutional actors (Ministries of Foreign Affairs, of Agricoltural Policies, of Education and University, of the Economic Development, ICE) and relevant players in the food sector (Chamber of Commerce, Italian Federation of Chefs, Academy of Gastronomy). The “Week of Italian Gastronomy –Settimana della Cucina Italiana nel mondo”-is meant to engage Italian Embassies, chambers of commerce, culture institutes, communities and businesses in a massive and strategic promotional campaign worldwide to celebrate the Italian food excellence through a 360 degrees perspective. Get ready to have tradition, innovation, culture, quality, safety, sustainability explored in tastings, cultural events, movies, seminars, entertainments. the italian Food FestiVal groUp eVents Against this backdrop, the Italian Food Festival Group has joined hands with the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Chamber of Commerce (ICHAM) in order to coordinate the respective efforts and optimize visibility, media, contact and resources. The “Italian Food Festival” will open the Week of the Italian Gastronomy with two days of Italian food wine, music and wine on 19 and 20 November, move on along a week-long (20th to 25th November) program of Italian style entertainment, culture and gastronomy in the original Italian restaurants and shops around Hanoi, eventually closing the week with a special cozy and tasty evening “Italian do eat better” at Casa Italia in Le Phung Hieu on the 26th of November. a Close Up on the italian Food FestiVal on 19-20 noVemBer

The Italian Food Festival will be held in Tay Ho Water Park, featuring two days of pure Italian food, wine, music, culture and entertainment experience. The large area of the water park (normally closed at that time of the year) offers an ideal venue to host a significant number of participants. A wide covered area includes a huge equipped stage perfect for our entertainment program including live music, lucky draws, cooking competitions and more activities. All the facilities and staff of the water park are in an enclosed, safe and well equipped area, with a trained team, children playground and wide space for sponsor activities and vendor’s stalls. The water park can be easily reached from any neighborhood in Hanoi, is connected through several bus stops and taxi stands in the surrounding area and offers wide parking spaces.

hiWC’s 25th “silver Jubilee” Charity Bazaar, sunday 27 november 2016 This year is special. Not only is it HIWC’s 30th Birthday Year, it is also the 25th anniversary of their popular charity bazaar – one the largest charity fund raisers in northern Vietnam. This year the celebration will take place with a very special Winter Wonderland and Christmas theme. Expect delicious food and drink from around the world, plenty of entertainment for children of all ages, great music and quality shopping. The HIWC aim to raise at least US$100,000 for women’s and children’s charities in the Hanoi area. This well attended event will be held at St Paul American School, Hoai Duc, where more than 8000 visitors and participants are expected at the school’s spacious and open plan campus. The Gates will open at 10am and close at 4pm. a Bit oF history HIWC held its first charity bazaar in Hanoi in 1991 to raise money for a boarding school for children from remote ethnic minority villages in Yen Bay Province, north of Hanoi. The event was a great success and since then the bazaar, held at the end of November every year, has become a much-anticipated community event and one of the largest charity fund-raisers in Hanoi. The bazaar is the main way that the HIWC realises its long standing commitment to raise funds to support women’s and children’s charities in Vietnam. It is organised and run entirely by HIWC volunteers. Working with sponsors, the diplomatic community, charities and social enterprises and local businesses to organise an event that: Celebrates Hanoi’s diverse international community including through sharing international cuisine, culture and music; Provides a fun day out for members, their families and friends,supporters of the HIWC and people of all nationalities; Creates an opportunity for charities funded by HIWC to raise awareness of their work on women’s and children’s health, education and community aid projects, and to assist the participation of a limited number of other charities and social enterprises working in a variety of other fields; Marks the end of the year and provides a Christmas shopping opportunity. Tickets and Transport for the Annual Charity Bazaar 2016 Tickets will cost VND 150,000 for adults and VND 50,000 for children if bought in advance. As usual, tickets will be available in advance from international schools and shops and restaurants in Tay Ho and Hoan Kiem areas. Tickets will also be available from shuttle bus pick up points. Ticket holders will be able to use free shuttle buses from locations to be announced. At the entrance to the bazaar on the day of the event, the adult ticket price will rise to VND 200,000 while children’s tickets will remain priced at VND 50,000. please note Although tickets will be available from bus pick-up points on the day of the bazaar, numbers will be limited.It is strongly advised that to purchase them in advance to avoid disappointment.
