5th graders in Communion
One of the Children's Ministry milestones is the transition from elementary to middle school. Our current 5th grade students have been learning about what it means to be a part of a church community, and are assisting with Communion this morning. Please welcome them as they provide leadership during worship at the 9 & 10:30AM services.

122 kids attended all or a portion of the six days of Day Camp over the past two weeks! Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers, students, and parents! We were blessed by the children's joy and the outpouring of community support. Thank you to Valley Day School music teacher Sunshine Peterson, Sportball Coaches, Arizona Bounce Around, Tumble Masters Coach Robin, and VPC staff for donating their time and talents.
Congregational Meeting
Sunday, May 13, 10AM, Sanctuary Session has called a Congregational Meeting to elect Scott Freeman an Elder; he will replace Susie Huseth, who resigned to join the VPC Staff team.

Whenever I talk about the renovations and renderings, designs and dreams for A New Heart for the Valley, I get excited. Like Nehemiah rebuilding the Temple, I can’t wait for the day God’s people gather in our renewed Sanctuary. I can’t wait for the day that those arriving to worship share the excitement of those coming out of worship as they meet on the park-like plaza, deepening relationships and discovering common faith in Jesus. I am so excited to see what God will do to transform families through our support of MentorKids USA and Family Promise!

Family Promise
VPC Hosting Family Promise May 20-27 Chris Woodard: chrisw@vpc.church Family Promise rescues homeless families from the streets and provides emergency shelter and basic needs in program designed to assist their return to selfsufficiency. Family Promise partners with VPC to provide safe overnight shelter, food, and compassion to families in crisis. Contact Chris if interested in getting involved.
