THE SERMONS TO THE SEVEN CHURCHES OF REVELATION With Dr. Jeffrey Weima, Calvin Theological Seminary
January 7, 14, 21, & 28, 6-7PM, Sanctuary Dr. Jeffrey Weima is a sought-after speaker who is able to communicate the truths of the Bible in an interesting, accessable, and practical manner. A leading New Testament scholar and seasoned preacher, Dr. Weima is also an experienced tour guide who has led over 45 trips to ancient biblical sites in Greece, Turkey, Italy, Israel, and Jordan. In this class he explains the meaning of four of the seven sermons of Revelation 2-3 and how these ancient messages are relevant today at VPC.

April 8, 15, 22, 29; May 6, 6-7PM, Room B106 Learn how Jesus addressed John the Baptist’s doubt, confronted the Pharisees, explained parables, fed thousands, and walked on water. All are invited! No prior attendance is required or needed. Wally Larson, Jr. is an attorney whose core area is the rules and laws governing lawyers. A Phoenix native, he lived and worked in New York City for 25 years, where he had the privilege to serve alongside the late Reverend Dr. Timothy Keller as Elder at Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Wally moved back to Phoenix in 2021 and works remotely for his firm. He enjoys reading history, theology, and teaching God’s Word.

Our highly skilled teachers encourage developmentally appropriate learning and nurture the social and emotional development of every student. Ministry of Hope Malawi, Africa
ministryofhope.org In 1999 Malawians established the Ministry of Hope (MOH) as a local, community-based response to meet physical and spiritual needs of orphaned and vulnerable children. Using crisis nurseries, community centers, scholarships, and mobile medical clinic programs, MOH provides care for those who would not otherwise receive it. VPC has provided support to thousands of orphaned children and widows since MOH opened in 1999.

villagesinpartnership.org Villages in Partnership is a community of people and organizations devoted to sharing God’s love and blessings with the poorest of the poor in the impoverished nation of Malawi, Africa. VPC’s work with Villages in Partnership has blessed many lives, and we are excited to be involved with the construction and opening of the One Heart Secondary School in Malawi. We are thankful for the time spent and efforts to all involved. God is amazing!

God Is With Us With Dr. Warren Pettitt & Deborah Pettitt
February 8-22 Warren is professor emeritus of Arizona Christian University and Deborah is a licensed psychotherapist and Director of Family Christian Counseling Center. Their three-week series will focus on the promise that God is with us in our struggles.
March 1-29 This class examines the Book of Psalms within its original Old Testament context. We will see how the Psalms emerged from Israel’s communal worship, royal traditions, lament practices, and wisdom teaching, to how these ancient texts shaped Jewish faith long before their adoption into Christian devotion. Bill is Executive in Residence at Grand Canyon University. He graduated from the United States Air Force Academy, earned a Master’s Degree in Economics from UCLA, a Master’s in Theology from Fuller Seminary, and recently completed his PhD with Trinity Bible College.

He served two terms on Session, and as a Trustee for Valley Presbyterian Foundation, where he continues to serve on its Investment Committee. Dave has written seven historical fiction books following a theme of church and state.

Health & Wellness
Members of this team work with various community resources to provide health and wellness related events on-campus such as heart screenings, recreation activities, blood drives, informational speakers, and CPR/AED training. These events are open to all VPC members, and often the surrounding community. If you are interested in events that look after your body as well as your soul, we invite you to volunteer!
Memorial Receptions
This ministry is charged with hosting receptions following on-campus memorial services. The team prepares cookies and beverages or assists the family with other options. The team also arranges, decorates, and prepares serving stations. Most importantly, this ministry provides additional comfort for the family and guests during a difficult time.
Tasty Spoon
Do you enjoy cooking as a way to spread God’s joy to others? Tasty Spoon ministry team members prepare and deliver cooked meals to community members in need due to illness, bereavement, hospitalization, financial hardship, or birth of a new baby. If preparing delicious food is your love language, this team is for you!

The Valley Legacy Society helps provide a long-term foundation for VPC. Members are able to contribute to God’s work past their lifetimes by providing financial support for VPC’s ministries and programs. There are no start up or annual fees. Simply name Valley Presbyterian Foundation in your estate plan. A will or trust is the cornerstone of a well-organized estate plan, but it can also proclaim your faith, demonstrating your faithful stewardship to future generations. The Legacy Society currently has over 100 members across all ages and walks of life. There is no minimum (or maximum!) contribution necessary to become a member.
