Experience Turks and Caicos is pleased to announce the launch of our local marketing campaign under the theme “RootedinCommunity,GrowingTogether”.

The marketing campaign seeks to create awareness of the Destination Management and Marketing Organisation (DMMO), our mission and to develop a closer relationship withcommunitiesacrosstheTurksandCaicosIslands.

From September 2nd to 6th the Experience Turks and Caicos team together with the Minister of Tourism, the Hon Josephine Connolly, will be in the Cayman Islands for this year’s State of the Tourism Industry Conference (SOTIC) Last year, the Turks and Caicos Islands hosted SOTIC for the first time and we are excited to attend as one of the topdelegatesthisyear ISSUENO.3|JULY/AUGUST2024

The local campaign will comprise many activities among them social media posts showcasing the individual stories of tourism stakeholders who benefit from our initiatives, short video reels showcasing our staff, advertisements and press releases in our newspapers, magazine articles, billboard ads, appearances on radio talk shows, meetings with businesses andstakeholdersacrosstheislands,schooltoursandmore

ThepurposeofthecampaignistoeducatetheTCIcommunity aboutourmission Byemphasisingourorganisation’spillarsof inclusive growth, sustainable development, and enhanced competitiveness, the campaign will establish Experience Turks and Caicos as a vital player in shaping the islands' socioeconomicandenvironmentallandscape

The theme “Rooted in Community, Growing Together” speaks to that mission as we recognise that to grow our tourism industry we need to work together with our communities, we needtosupportthemandtocollaboratewiththem

COMMUNITYCONNECT ROLLSOUTINSOUTHCAICOS

Our Community Connect Meetings continued on July 8th in SouthCaicos.

The Big South was the latest in our series of town hall meetings which began in Middle and North Caicos back in April. The purpose of the Community Connect Meetings is to introduce our communities to our core team, inform them of our plans and listen to their feedback on what their communitiesneedtodeveloparobusttourismsector.

Following the meeting, which was held at the South Caicos CommunityCentre,wevisitedsomebusinessesandlistened to their plans to accommodate the influx of visitors that will beonislandduetothenon-stopAmericanAirlinesflightfrom Miami to South Caicos on February 15th and the longawaitedopeningoftheSalterraResortandSpaonthesame day.

Experience Turks and Caicos is on radio. our new show, Spotlight on Tourism, airs each Thursday on Radio Turks and Caicos from 11 am to 12 pm and streamed live on RTC’s Facebookpage.

. The show launched on July 4th, 2024 and features three segments The first segment, From the Source Markets, which gives updates on articles featuring the Turks and CaicosIslands,awardsthatthedestinationis nominatedforandwonaswellasExperience Turks and Caicos activities in our source markets

The second segment is the interview segmentwithtourismstakeholders,business people and people from our communities working to build our tourism product The thirdsegmentfocusesontheweeklyFishFry and the people who work there each week earningaliving.

VIRTUOSOTRAVELADVISORS STUDYTOUR

Experience Turks and Caicos hosted nine Virtuoso Travel Advisors from June 22nd to 29th. The group, comprising travel advisors from the United States and Canada, spent the week learning everythingabouttheTurksandCaicosIslands TheydidsitetoursofVirtuosoproperties,enjoyed culinary and cultural experiences and enjoyed the accommodations offered from our hotel partnersnamelyThePalms,GraceBayClub,COMOParrotCayandtheShoreClub.Thankstoall whocontributedtothisin-depthstudytour.

UKROADSHOW2024

As we seek to enhance relationships with the UK market, Experience Turks and Caicos recently held aRoadshowinthatmarket

ExperienceTurksandCaicoswasrepresentedbyChairmanMr.AlvinHegnerandVictoriaCramer of Paradise Promotions. The primary objective of the Roadshow was training, educating, and inspiringthetraveltradeinanefforttoboostvisitorsfromtheUK.

Activities during the Roadshow included a travel agent retreat focused on showcasing the Turks and Caicos Islands to the Luxury Travel Agents in the UK, a Golf Day in Partnership with Luxury Travel Partner Inspirational Travel Company (ITC) that attracted many UK celebrities, and an afternoon tea within the Destinology head office, a tour operator partner which features the destination The Experience Turks and Caicos team and the hotel partners trained 15 -17 of the touroperatorreservationsandmarketingteamsattheafternoontea
