Preparing for Delivery

It’s important that your site is prepared and ready to receive the building before the hauler arrives for your scheduled delivery. To help ensure a smooth delivery, please follow these guidelines:

Clear the delivery access

Clear the delivery access: Make sure the route to the building’s final location is clear, with 1–2 feet of clearance on each side. For example, a 10’ wide building will need 12’–14’ of total clearance.

Remove obstructions

Check for anything that could block delivery, such as fence posts, trees, low-hanging branches, wires, or other obstacles.

Consider a site inspection

If you’re unsure about access, you may request that your shed specialist inspect your property prior to delivery to confirm the building can be placed in the desired location. A non-refundable site check fee may apply.

Complete site prep in advance

Make sure any necessary site preparation is finished before your delivery date so the hauler can position the building correctly and ensure it is level.

Delivery & Payment Q&A

• How will the hauler get the truck & trailer to the specific location I want the building?

The hauler will get the truck and trailer as close as possible to your driveway or entry point. They will then offload your building and put it on a mule machine to get it to its final destination.

• Will my yard be ruined during the delivery process?

Our haulers try their very best to avoid any disruption when delivering buildings to customers. The biggest factor is usually recent rain. You can avoid this by communicating any weather concerns to the logistics coordinator or hauler that you scheduled with.

• I have questions about my order. Who do I contact?

See our list of necessary contacts on Page 11

• When will my first payment be due on my Rent-to-Own agreement?

• When will my first payment be due on my financing agreement?

You can typically count on it taking 4-6 weeks for the rent-to-own company to start the billing process. You can typically count on it taking up to 4 weeks for the financing company to start the billing process.

Site Pad Options & Suggestions

Gravel Pad (Recommended)

We suggest crushed 304 limestone gravel, 4–6 inches thick, compacted and leveled. The pad should extend 2 feet beyond the building on all sides to promote proper drainage. This option is ideal because it provides a firm base, minimizes settling, and allows for excellent drainage.

Concrete Pad

If you choose a concrete pad, we recommend making it slightly smaller than the roof overhang (shorter and narrower) and slightly out of level so water can drain away from the building.

Level Ground (Grass/Dirt)

If placing the building on grass or dirt, ensure the site has a slight slope for drainage. Some blocking may be required. Please note: if a building is set on grass or dirt with blocking, it may settle over time, which can affect door alignment. If this happens, you may need to re-level periodically with shims until the building finishes settling.

Blocking

Structures under 40 feet long may be raised up to 16 inches on the highest side, while buildings over 40 feet can typically be blocked 16–24 inches off the ground. For best support, the entrance side should rest on solid ground when possible, and settling over time may require re-blocking after 30 days at an additional charge.

Blocking Limitations

Buildings under 40’ long

Can be blocked up to 16” under the edge of the side that needs to be raised the highest.

Buildings over 40’ long

Can be blocked safely up to 16” - 24” off the ground.

For best support and easier entry/exit, the entrance side should ideally rest on solid ground.

Note: This setup may still experience settling over time and could require re-blocking in the future. Any re-blocking needed after 30 days may involve an additional charge.

Blocking Costs Requirements &

If your building needs to be blocked higher than 8”, please have clean, undamaged blocks available at delivery.

• Calculating block requirements based on the size of your building.

◊ Length/# of runners + 1 for end of building

Example: 14x24 - building has 4 runners

24/4 = 6 + 1 = 7x4 runners = 28 blocks need (1 level)

**If you are blocking more than 1 level, you will need double the 28 (56)

If blocks are not available, some drivers may be able to provide them for $2-$4 per block (due at delivery). Not all drivers carry blocks, so it’s best to have them ready ahead of time.

Blocks can typically be purchased at major home improvement stores or local hardware stores.

Blocking costs are not included as part of your shed order. We recommend blocking supports at a minimum of every 8 feet of floor length.

BLOCK SITE PREP

GRAVEL PAD

Undeliverable

Heavily sloped surfaces may require excessive blocking, which can be unsafe for the structure and for anyone using it. If the site is deemed undeliverable, Country Cabins can hold the building for up to 60 days while you make arrangements to create a level delivery area.

Care

Caring For Your Building

• Re-leveling: settling can happen, especially on dirt/grass

• Door alignment: sticking doors often means building needs leveling

• Keep vegetation trimmed back

• Keep drainage flowing away

• Don’t store wet items directly on the floor

• Check seals/caulking annually

Heating Insulated Buildings

Condensation can occur when a building is insulated or sealed without proper ventilation, causing warm air and humidity to become trapped and collect as moisture. It is best to ensure that your building is properly ventilated if you opt to heat it in the cooler months.

We guarantee your structure will remain free of defects caused by material or workmanship for the following periods from the date of installation:

• 3 Years – Compass Series Sheds

• 5 Years – Signature Series Sheds
