Sowing the seeds of knowledge in fields, farms, food industries By Peri Kinder | peri.k@thecityjournals.com Teens dig into hands-on learning experiences with local plant and animal agriculture.

Editor’s note: In this special edition you’ll find articles related to all things food. uture Farmers of America summer agriculture students not only understand where their food comes from, but they are actively involved in the process. Their summer has been spent growing their own food, raising livestock for auction, engaging with animals in the community and touring local agricultural sites. “They choose their project and then we are just there to help them develop goals and help them improve through their project,” Jordan Academy of Technology and Careers agriculture instructor Sydnee Roholt said.
