Art brings life and energy to a city by connecting people through creativity, culture, and shared experiences. Murals, music, festivals, galleries, and local performances create welcoming spaces where residents and visitors can come together to celebrate the unique identity of a community. A strong arts culture inspires civic pride, supports local businesses, and makes a city more vibrant and inclusive. Through art, communities become stronger and more connected.
Holladay has a proud tradition of supporting the arts, thanks to dedicated volunteers and city staff who help make events such as the Holladay Fine Arts Show, the Summer Concert Series, and the Blue Moon Festival possible. The Holladay Arts Council, a volunteer citizen council, works alongside city staff and support arts programs accessible to everyone. From children’s theater productions to fine arts exhibitions, the Arts Council truly lives up to its mantra: “Discover Yourself in Art.”
This summer will continue that tradition. The Summer Concert Series will return to City Hall Park on Saturdays at 8 p.m. throughout July and August. Our community production of Fiddler on the Roof will run June 25–30 at Holladay City Park. In addition, the Arts Council will host its Artist of the Month reception at Four Lemons on June 5, and the long-running children’s theater program, Page to Stage, will present The Mitten that same day. These are just a few of the many arts opportunities available in our community this year.
Programs like these enrich our lives and help us feel part of something larger than ourselves.
Many years ago, I was driving down Holladay Boulevard with my four-year-old daughter, Abby. As we passed Holladay City Hall, she suddenly squealed from the back seat: “Mom, that’s where we went to the concerts!”
I smiled and told her she was right. Then she said, “I can’t wait to go again.”
Her feelings—and mine—have not changed over the years. Every summer, our family looks forward to the Summer Concert Series. We have danced to Disney music, the Beatles, Peter Breinholt, big band, Latin, pop, and rock. Every season offers something for everyone.
More than anything, we enjoy gathering with friends and neighbors each Saturday night and celebrating what makes Holladay such a special community. I look forward to seeing you there this summer.

Fireworks Banned East of 1300 E.
This year, City Council has made the decision to ban all fireworks east of 1300 East It’s no secret that we are experiencing severe drought conditions statewide. Record-low snowpack this last winter means we’re all trying to be a bit more cautious about water usage and fire prevention.
While fireworks are a traditional way of celebrating our country and state on holidays like Independence Day and Pioneer Day, we ask that, this year, our community prioritizes the safety of their loved ones, their homes, pets, and the beautiful green spaces that surround us.

We encourage you to celebrate America’s 250th birthday in other, community-building ways. Around the country, people will be hosting potlucks on July 5th as a way to increase unity! We invite you to share a meal with your neighbors and get to know the people around you a little better.
On Independence Day itself, we hope you’ll celebrate America’s 250th with us at our annual 4th of July breakfast, bike parade, and drone show.

4th of July Celebration
Join us for our annual Independence Day festivities at Holladay City Park (4580 S 2300 E). We’ll kick the day off with our usual breakfast gathering which will be followed by the bike parade.
Towards the end of the day, we invite you to join us for live music from WILDWOOD and a special patriotic drone show.
EVENT DETAILS:
Breakfast will be open from 8:00am - 10:00am with catering by Isabella’s. Tickets are $8 per adult 18 years and older, $5 for kids 4-17 years old, and free for kids 3 years and under. We accept VISA, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and cash.
The bike parade will begin at 9:00am and start at Pine Park.
The concert will begin at 8:00pm and will take place at the gazebo behind City Hall (4580 S 2300 E). The drone show will begin at 10:00pm.

Containers will be dropped off sometime between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on the scheduled day. WFWRD staff will try to ensure that residents have up to 24 hours with the container. Driveways must be cleared, accessible, and have enough room (approximately 10’ x 20’) for the container to be placed off the street and public sidewalk. If the driveway is inaccessible, the

Lost & Found Pets
Losing a pet can be stressful, but acting quickly can help bring them home safely. Here are a few important steps to take if your pet goes missing or if you find a lost animal. If your pet is lost:
• Visit your local shelter and nearby shelters as soon as possible and continue checking regularly. Lost pets brought to Salt Lake County Animal Services can be viewed at www. adoptutahpets.com.
• Email a photo and the location where your pet went missing to animal@saltlakecounty. gov or report your lost pet by calling Dispatch at 801-840-4000.
• Share your pet’s information on social media platforms such as Facebook, Nextdoor, Petco Love Lost and KSL, and post flyers in your neighborhood.
• Search during the day and at night and ask friends or neighbors to help.
• Don’t give up — many pets are reunited with their families’ days after going missing.
If you find a lost pet:
• Found pets must be reported to local animal control within 24 hours.
• Bring found pets within Salt Lake County Animal Services jurisdiction to the shelter at 511 W. 3900 S. during business hours (Tues–Sat, 10 AM–6 PM).
• After hours, contact Dispatch at 801-840-4000. Animal Control officers are available 24/7.
• Posting a photo of the pet online can also help locate the owner.
Before your pet goes missing:
• Keep ID tags and microchip information current.
• Salt Lake County licensed pets qualify for free microchipping through Salt Lake County Animal Services.
• Keep updated photos of your pet in case you need to create flyers or online posts quickly.

The Planning Commission is a volunteer citizen board that reviews land use applications for compliance with city codes, conducts special studies, and makes recommendations to the City Council on select legislative matters. The Commission meets twice a month.

Knudsen Park Rentals
The picnic pavilion and outdoor classroom in Knudsen Park are now available for rental using a new CivicRec Reservation Tool. Please note that all existing Knudsen Park reservations made through the previous system will be honored. Knudsen Park facilities are available for rental May 1 through October 31 annually, and dates can be reserved up to 6 months in advance.
Key Benefits of the New Software
• Allows residents to create and edit accounts inclusive of the whole family
• Provides easy-to-use navigation and browsing of a one-stop-shop online catalog for program registration and facility rentals
• Allows the public to conveniently view parks and facility availability, calendars, and manage reservations
• Provides the ability to accept payments in-person and online, print receipts, view account statements, and pay balances
Holladay City Hall Rooms and City Park Rentals
The City of Holladay is seismically retrofitting and renovating City Hall from April 2026 through September 2027. During this construction period, all room rentals at City Hall, as well as gazebo and pavilion rentals in City Park, will be paused. Updated information about facility rentals will be shared when construction is complete.
