Central Community Foundation giving surpasses $1 million The Central Community Foundation recently achieved a milestone of giving back more than $1 million to our communities, and this couldn’t have been achieved without your generous support! Central Rural Electric Cooperative members who participate in Operation Round Up give a few cents each month, but that small pocket change makes a big impact in Central’s seven-county service area. In 2006, the Central board of trustees established a 501(c)(3) foundation to serve as Central’s philanthropic arm in helping fulfill the needs of our service area. In the 15 years since, the Central Community Foundation has helped hundreds of individuals and organizations.
Education grants help fund school programs, projects, equipment, building construction and renovations. Personal Need grants fund the needs of individuals. Funds may provide assistance for food, clothing or other necessities.
The board defined five areas of interest in which grants are given. Community Purpose grants fund projects that benefit the entire community. Examples include playground equipment, splash pads, commuHunter Robinson, Central CEO nity services, etc. Health Care grants provide aid for ambulance services, hospice programs, and construction and renovation of medical facilities and other health care related areas. Disaster Relief grants help when homes or property are destroyed or damaged by tornado, fire, flood or other natural disasters.

The foundation is funded by Central members’ participation in Operation Round Up, which rounds up your bill to the next whole dollar. This change, on average $6 per year, makes a big impact in our service area.
In 2020, we launched the Round Up Plus program, allowing members to give an additional flat monthly sum on their Central bill to help make an even bigger impact. Members can sign up at MyCentral.Foundation. The foundation is truly a grassroots effort to provide members with the opportunity to help others in their communities. We appreciate your participation.

Limitations Recipients must live in Central’s service area. Individuals can receive a maximum of $500 under the category of personal needs and $2,500 in a year. Organizations can receive a maximum of $10,000 in a year.

How to be involved Operation Round Up Members who participate in Operation Round Up will have their monthly Central bill rounded to the next whole dollar. The average annual Operation Round Up donation is $6, and the maximum donation is $11.88.
Round Up Plus The Round Up Plus program allows members to make an additional fixed monthly donation on top of their usual Operation Round Up amount. For example, you can add $5 to your monthly bill as a donation to the foundation. If your bill was $134.27, your Operation Round Up donation including the Round Up Plus amount would be $140.00. The $5.73 will be put into the foundation.
One-Time Donation One time donations can be made to the Central Community Foundation by mailing a check to: Central Community Foundation PO Box 1809 Stillwater, OK 74076 The Central Community Foundation is a 501(c)3 foundation and donations are tax deductible.
