Mya GullDesign Brief
I have decided to make my project on a local block of flats in my neighbourhood. I have specifically chosen this site because in the surrounding area there are no other high rises, so this block stands out a lot. As well as it not looking the best, it comes with countless hazards which affect both the tenants of the flats and the local community. There are countless times a year where emergency services are called for incidents related to the flats, ranging from the lift getting stuck and a fire breaking out. This raises a concern for the safety of the tenants. In my design I will focus on creating a safer set of apartments while enhancing the community. It will also be more aesthetically pleasing than a simple high rise. My chosen theme is a mixture of brutalism and cubism in architecture.

Specifications
I would like my buildings / space to be able to cater to everyone's needs. This would include the likes of a garden space, a range of different sized apartments, for families and single persons and parking spaces.
I would also like the building to look interesting without clashing with local architecture too much. To achieve this, I will limit the height of the complex to a maximum of 4 storeys.
I also aim to create a design that can fit all tenants of the current flats to avoid the risk of homelessness. This is around 101 residential units with a range of one bedroom to three-bedroom apartments. I would like at least 10% of the apartments to have disability access, a few specifically for those that need the specific equipment. Each apartment would also have a covered area to store their bins to not damage the image.

I used a software called Blender to create some mock apartment shapes. In the images you can see a combination of 4, 3 bed apartments.
