Restoring Hope. Changing Lives.
Making room for more, so every woman and child experiencing homelessness in North Georgia can find hope.
My Sister’s Place Capital Campaign
The Growing Crisis
We need your help.
Every woman and child deserves a safe place to sleep. The reality is many go without this basic necessity...and the crisis is getting worse.
For over 25 years, My Sister’s Place has served women and children who are experiencing homelessness and lack the resources to meet the basic needs of life. While we serve many, we could be serving more. In just the last two years, we had to turn away over 1,000 eligible women and children due to space limitations.
The 2022 Point-in-Time count for Hall County showed a staggering increase in the total sheltered and unsheltered homeless population compared to 2019.*

My Sister’s Place has maximized the space at our current location and must pursue a new site to meet the urgent needs of the community. We must ACT NOW to expand our capacity to ensure women and children are suitably housed and they can grow and thrive in North Georgia.

“ I have lost almost all hope and I do not know where to turn any longer.”

My Sister’s Place restores hope by encouraging faith in Christ, developing life skills, and providing a haven for women and children experiencing homelessness.

“ The people here are nice to me and my brothers. I made lots of friends here. My Sister’s Place is sweet.”

Pathways to Independence OUR PROGRAM
The team at My Sister’s Place is here to help our residents overcome the obstacles to realizing long-term housing stability. The goal of our 90-day program is for our residents to increase their income, find affordable housing, and be prepared for independent living.
Christ-Centered Support
OUR IMPACT
Most importantly, our team offers spiritual guidance and encouragement rooted in Christ that restores their hope and sustains them after they leave our care. In 2024, 82% of our residents exited our program into stable housing, which is well above the national average of 32.4%, according to HUD.

The Solution
Our current facilities consistently operate at full capacity, serving at least 50 women and children per year. The need for our services in the community continues to grow. Therefore, My Sister’s Place is planning a three-phase expansion of our shelter facilities.

Plans to Grow OUR GOALS
Our expansion will ultimately include 190 beds, allowing us to serve approximately 550 women and children per year and meet the needs we see today. It will also include nine (9) transitional housing units in separate buildings.
Expanding from serving 50 to 550 women and children requires thoughtful planning. We’ll begin by building out the essential infrastructure, then gradually furnish and open additional bedrooms as our experience grows and financial capacity allows.
In subsequent phases, funded separately, we will complete an additional 70 beds, with a final phase that will allow for 70 more beds, bringing the shelter total to 190 beds.
Build the primary shelter building and transitional housing units
Finish a playground, offices, meeting and dining areas for 50 residents, allowing us to serve approximately 150 women and children per year
Restoring Hope. Changing Lives.
You are the key to providing critical resources for more women and children in North Georgia who have nowhere else to turn. With your support, we will offer more opportunities for shelter, clothing, life skills training, and most importantly, a deeper understanding of the love and grace of God that brings hope for a brighter future...a home of their own. We invite you to join us on our mission to expand our impact and change the lives of the most vulnerable in our community.

“You are making a real difference in people’s lives, and my family and I are living proof of that.”
